Monday, 28th Oct 2013 16:04

Town are running ticket promotions at Friday’s home game against Barnsley, which is live on Sky, and also the Leicester match.

For the game against the Tykes, season ticket holders are entitled to buy four additional seats for friends and family at reduced prices with an adult seat £10.

The Blues are also offering under-16s tickets at £1 for the Leicester match on Saturday 23rd November. For more details, visit the club site.

Let's hope that those who whinge about high ticket prices show their support during these games to give the club something to think about.

Because it's being shown live on sky, don't think it will make any difference.

But it still is expensive because the people who aren't season ticket holders aren't getting cheap tickets are they. Why pay £30 when it's on Sky??

Yep, with senior tickets £8 and children £3 for Friday. It's possible to move your season ticket seat too to sit with your friends/family who buy the promotional tickets.

Sadly I expect many people won't know about this and the attendance won't increase much, meaning the club will argue in future that price reductions don't work.

The club could improve their marketing by:
- Changing the 0844 ticket office number (35p a minute from a mobile!) to a geographical one;
- Increasing the limit of 4 tickets per season ticket holder (I knew 13 people wanting tickets);
- Including a discount voucher with the tickets for the next game to try to get these new people hooked.

There is a local one, apparently. I got this number of that magnificent website SayNoto0870.com which gives you freephone or local phone numbers to replace all the 0870 or 0844 or 0845 numbers.

Yes trulyblue,

All those people who "whinge" about ticket prices, maybe with a couple of kids to support , or on a low income wage perhaps, who needs wasters like that sitting next to you eh?

If you can afford to go every week , congratulations, well done you...

Some people would love to go but can't and have been priced out of their hometown club, they work, have families, bills to pay etc

Doesn't make them any less of a "fan" than anyone else

What a game to choose for a ticket promotion - a cold Friday night in November, against Barnsley and live on Sky anyway.

A cynic might suggest the club don't want it to work!!

Anyone know what the Barnsley fans are being charged? Seems a bit unfair if they are having to pay £26-00+ whilst our fans can get in for a tenner. Perhaps the offer should be extended to Barnsley season ticket holders too, then maybe we might get cheap tickets when we go to Oakwell later in the season.

The timing of this offer baffles me.

Why only announce it now? If Iwanted to arrange a trip back to suffolk for friends to accompany me on my season ticket I would need to announce it well back.

As it is I have sky, have offloaded my ticket to someone else, and will miss my first home game of the season (and think of how to spend the £30 i have saved on petrol)
