Blues Lose to U's
Tuesday, 19th Nov 2013 17:49

A young Town development squad lost 5-2 to Colchester United in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Playford Road this afternoon.

The side’s senior man Alan Lee put the Blues 1-0 up at half-time but a more experienced U’s team fought back after the break to score five via Freddie Sears (2), Dominic Vose (2) and Jabo Ibehre with Jack Doherty netting the other goal for Town.

Right-back Kyle Hammond continued his comeback after 12 weeks out with a knee injury, playing the full 90 minutes.

How poor, 5 goals against Colchester 🙈 We should be winning it! I understand it was a young team.. but no wins still this season with some decent teams being played is kind of embarrassing! No idea how they expect us to do in the higher league against teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs, teams across Europe ect, that will just be embarrassing 10-0 defeats weekly unless something is changed! Kennedy out, and a re-shuffle of the team is needed, put in the effort and help the team win, or don't get a place, like Mick does. You might be saying, 'but we don't need to win', 'its not important as its just to develop the players'.. but in my eyes, they will have the same attitide on a match day, they need to get used to winning and trying to win. Can't we put Terry Connor in charge of U21s aswell as Assistant manager? On another note, Doherty's doing well :)

Robbie12345 we should be winning they are a league below us that's like a Sunderland fan saying that their U18s lose to a full out Burnley team ok maybe the 5 goals is not great but remember they have got a bit more in them

Ntoms97- Understand we had a young weakened team, and theirs was quite strong, but we still havent won yet, which will do nothing for their confidance levels. Not sure how a stronger team, with some more over 21s in it, will beat anyone in the higher league.

Err, this is essentially our U18s vs the regular Colchester United team, no? I'd expect us to lose against them. Surely you wouldn't expect the Man Utd U18s to be a dominating force in the Championship?

I think I agree with Robbie, this is a nasty streak we are on and something does need changing - quickly!

I didn't realise scoring during half time was allowed. Why don't we do this more often?
