Cresswell's Return Only Change
Saturday, 30th Nov 2013 14:07

Aaron Cresswell’s return at left-back in place of Tyrone Mings is Mick McCarthy’s only change as Town face Charlton at the Valley.

Mings drops to be bench alongside new loan signing Jordan Graham, while Paul Taylor misses out due to the shoulder injury suffered during last week’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester.

Luke Hyam is also absent with a stiff back and tweeted: “All the best to the lads today bring back three points and safe journey for the fans.”

Academy right-back Kyle Hammond and veteran striker Alan Lee made the trip but are left out of the 18.

Charlton include one-time Blues academy schoolboy and and ex-Bury Town keeper Nick Pope on the bench. Full match preview here.

Town: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Anderson, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Tabb, McGoldrick, Murphy. Subs: Loach, Edwards, Hunt, Wordsworth, Mings, Graham, Nouble.

Charlton: Alnwick, Wilson, Wiggins, Morrison, Dervite, Stewart, Cousins, Stephens, Jackson, Kermorgant, Church. Subs: Pope, Wood, Evina, Hughes, Green, Sordell, Pigott.

Will he just use our only creative midfielder in anthony wordsworth for once?! Bored of watching our failed 4-4-2 formation where we manage to create 1 chance a game

So we have another non existent right hand side again?
The fans who have travelled deserve better.
Anderson is our worst performer week in week out, how is he still even in the 18 let alone in the starting line up?
Baffling....

Tabb seemed off the pace last week. Hopefully that was the game he needed to sharpen-up.

Not going to lie, i fear for that midfield. I hope i'm wrong but Tabb, Hyam and Anderson are going to have to do something today if we're to get the points.

Surprising team selection. Tabb and Anderson were awful last week and offered nothing - perhaps they will do better this week. taylor injured again is a concern. Wish the boys well. Need a win after some inconsistent results.

Struggle to see what Mick see's in Tabb, he tries his hardest but honestly he's useless.

Scrappy game ahead no doubt. Both wide men will be non-existent as per usual

Amazed the midfield has remained unchanged. But with MM picking the team I really shouldn't be.

Could have done with including Alan Lee for the last 20mins. With young Graham & cressy zipping in crosses he would surely get a goal if needed.

3:40 ,so far so good. Can this be the game that we score a second goal instead of conceding again. COYB ... Let's hope so !
