Preston Prices Set
Tuesday, 10th Dec 2013 13:30

Town have confirmed that the FA Cup third round tie against Preston at Portman Road will take place on Saturday 4th January (KO 3pm) with adult tickets costing £15, concessions £10 and under-16s £3.

The clubs have met in the competition on two previous occasions, in February 1954 when the Lilywhites won 6-1 at Deepdale, then in January 1980 when Town ran out 3-0 victors also on Preston territory with Paul Mariner netting twice and Alan Brazil once.

Simon Grayson's Preston beat Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 away in round two on Saturday, having defeated Barnet 6-0 in the first round. They are currently third in League One.

The teams last met in the Championship in the 2010/11 season when the Lancastrians won 1-0 at home and the Blues 2-1 at Portman Road.

The game will be Town's first home FA Cup tie since the 3-0 victory over Chesterfield in January 2009.

I thinks this is as good a deal as we could have expected.

Less expensive than some pre-season friendlies in past seasons!

Well done Town. Some real sense here. I can't go myself as I am away but my boy will go and it'll only cost me £3, cheers. I'm sure someone will still moan about it though.

Sounds fair enough. Think the crowd will be between 10 and 12 thousand. Preston won't bring that many but it is such a trek. Also the fact we have two home games against Charton and QPR either side of this match might have a negative effect on the attendance.

Fair prices. I would encourage fans to buy as many tickets as possible for friends and family as Christmas presents. The more new people (especially children) we can get interested in ITFC the better.

Preston won't be a push over. They are third in League One and have won their last three matches without conceding a goal.

us fans need to take advantage of this and show the club that they can make as much money with fairer priced tickets

I shall endeavour to bring my young niece and nephews along. Maybe we should decree it "first game day" - make it the first game for as many young Blues as possible?
