Skuse: Best Team I've Played In Tuesday, 24th Dec 2013 06:01 Summer signing Cole Skuse says the current Town side is the best team he has played in during his career. Skuse, 27, joined the Blues on a Bosman during the close season having been with the Robins, his hometown club, since he was 10 years old. “This is probably the best team I have played in, especially in terms of the squad and the quality,” he said. “We are a hard team to beat home and away and we are not just a dogged side, we can play some decent stuff as well. “It’s a very, very strong squad. When we’re doing our warm-ups in training you think ‘Wow, it’s a small squad’, but it’s a very, very good squad. “And there are young boys like Kyle Hammond, who is a very, very talented boy, who have been training with the first team too. “There are people like Anthony Wordsworth and Freddie Veseli that aren’t even making the squad at the minute, now Sylvan Ebanks-Blake — who is a brilliant goalscorer — has joined too.” Skuse says he and several other players who came in during the summer were in a similar position: “It’s been a hard couple of seasons for myself and couple of the other boys who have joined from clubs that were having to dig in against relegation in recent years, so to be three points off the play-offs is a nice place to be. “We’re quietly going about our business, nobody is giving us the raves that we probably deserve, but we’re right in the mix and it’s a nice place to be. “I don’t think we are under any real pressure. We’ve got our own expectations and I’m sure the fans and the club have, but I’ve not felt any real pressure. “If you’re a club that’s just been relegated — a QPR or a Wigan — then you’re under instant pressure to bounce straight back. Pressure can get to teams like that towards the end. “We weren’t the bookies’ favourites to go up so we’re happy to keep flying under the radar. We’ll just keep ourselves in the mix and be ready to take advantage if one or two start slipping up. “We’ve looked at these next three games and thought this is a great opportunity. We’re looking to get nine points.”
