McCarthy Happy to Extend Hewitt Loan But Could Use Recall Thursday, 30th Oct 2014 15:38 Town boss Mick McCarthy says he’s happy for Elliott Hewitt to extend his loan at Colchester United but will recall the Wales U21 international if Jonny Parr’s groin problem proves to be anything more than a niggle. Hewitt’s current one-month spell is up after Colchester’s home game with Port Vale on Saturday. McCarthy says he’s spoken to U’s boss Tony Humes regarding the 20-year-old’s situation: “I’ve had a discussion with him and I said to him that Jonny Parr’s got a bit of a niggle with his groin. “If he has any problems with that long-term, I’ll bring him back. If not I’ll leave him there. “We’ve got a 24-hour recall after Saturday, so within 24 hours I can call him back. I’ll let him play there as long as I can.”
