| Town Number 20 in FA Cup DrawSunday, 7th Dec 2014 19:07
Town will be ball number 20 in the draw for the third round of the FA Cup which takes place from The Deep aquarium in Hull on Monday evening (7pm, BBC Two, Five Live). The Blues will be looking to win a cup tie for the first time under Mick McCarthy’s management. Town have exited the FA Cup at the third round stage for the last two seasons, at Aston Villa in 2012/13 and after a replay at Preston last season. The Blues have also gone out of the Capital One Cup at the first round stage in the last two years. On-loan Blues right-back Elliott Hewitt was in FA Cup action for Colchester this afternoon, the Wales U21 international helping the U’s to a 1-0 home victory over Peterborough United with George Moncur - son of one-time Town loanee John - netting the winner in the final minute. Elsewhere, Paul Taylor came on in the 84th minute as Rotherham drew 0-0 at Cardiff in the Championship yesterday with Anthony Wordsworth again left out of the 18, while Jack Marriott came on as a final minute sub for Woking as the Cards lost 2-1 at Macclesfield in the Vanarama Conference. Meanwhile, David Beckham was back at the Town academy this morning, posing for photos with fans and players alike. The former England skipper, whose sons are with Arsenal's youth set-up, was previously at Playford Road in May. And, Town winger Stephen Hunt has responded to former GAA player and pundit Joe Brolly’s comments earlier in the week in his column in the Irish Sunday Independent. Please can we have Leeds again, so we can show them it wasn't a fluke, or a "corrupt football league" at work.
It would be nice to do the treble over them... Hmm when was the last time Ipswich did a treble over anyone, must have been ages ago

Draw's being carried out by Mark Fish and former West Ham man Geoff Pike, apparently.

commuterblue-treble over Villa in 1980/81. We won at Villa Park in midweek after losing semi final there to Man C.
After that night the league should have been ours but had to settle for just winning UEFA Cup.

hope we are at home this draw and also that we can put out a team to try and progress to the next round for a change,,be so good to have a decent cup run...on another point we should soon see what penalties are being handed out for Financial fair play breakers last season, if any.

I am always torn between a good cup run or a bumper away tie to a prem up straight away!
This year, maybe more important than ever to have a short run in the cup so we can focus on staying in the hunt for promotion. Especially given our relatively small squad size.

United/City/West Ham away please FA! COYB's!!

Well let's be honest, we're never going to win the cup, and promotion is very important. Let us get at least a half decent prem away day or a top prem side at home and that can be that :)

The last time Ipswich Town did a treble was against Barnsley in 2000 including Wembley final !!
