Hunt Set to Sign Town Deal
Wednesday, 7th Jan 2015 15:44

TWTD understands that former loanee Noel Hunt is expected at Portman Road tomorrow morning to finalise the details on a permanent deal with the Blues. The 32-year-old, who left Leeds by mutual consent earlier today, is set to put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season.

Hunt, the younger brother of Town winger Stephen, joined the Blues on loan at the end of November, scoring the late, late winner after coming on as a sub in the 1-0 victory at Charlton.

The Irishman made a further three appearances from the bench before his spell came to an end prior to Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Southampton.

Speaking about Hunt's future after his final appearance, the 3-0 home victory over Charlton, manager Mick McCarthy said the situation at that point largely depended on Leeds: "It’s up to them what they want to do with him, and up to Hunty, to be fair.

“He’s done all right, he scored the winner at Charlton, he’s had a couple of sub appearances and I like him. It’s up to them, see what they want to do.”

One of the nice things about being on BBC-1 at prime time next week is that we will, by and large, simply be referred to as Ipswich Town - and not, as las time around, as Roy Keane's Ipswich Town. This wasn't RK's fault but devalued the standing of the club by suggesting that we were only of any wider interest because of RK. While he is known always to entertain with his patter, and the media love him, Mick isn't that kind of Celeb and we are all the better for that.

Taylor is a no hoper,I seriously will not spend money watching the club if he stays (£250 )for a home game. For gods sake he can't get in a bottom of the table side never mind a good one I'd rather the kit man played at least he'd try. Welcome Noel maybe J W ?but I doubt it ,I'm sure MM knows what he needs unlike us

Not to be down on Mick, but I am sure the mutual consent conversation is coming with Taylor. Hunt is an impact striker and he knows it, he is hungry, and he is a new man- I wouldn't be suprised if he turns into a new BamBam all things considered!

OK but I hope this is not the end of our signings----as said before MM deserves and has earned some money to buy a quality back up striker now----I sincerely hope he has this well in mind bearing in mind last years disaster when Didz got injured and the club did nothing about it hence no play off place.
