Sammon Now Linked With Rotherham Move
Wednesday, 14th Jan 2015 17:33

Rotherham United are reportedly set to sign striker Conor Sammon, who is currently on loan with the Blues from Derby, on loan for the rest of the season.

Yesterday, the 28-year-old was linked with a move to Huddersfield but, according to The Irish Sun, the Ireland international will now join the Millers.

Sammon joined the Blues on a season-long loan in August but such spells include the provision for a recall within an open transfer window, so Sammon can go back to the Rams and then elsewhere.

The former UCD, Kilmarnock and Wigan striker, who has another 18 months remaining on his Derby contract, has scored one goal in eight starts and 12 sub appearances for the Blues."

Sammon moving on prematurely would mean Town boss Mick McCarthy would need to add another striker to his squad.

As long as he doesn't stay here that's all that matters ... Although he does try hard so you have to give him that...

I hear Messi may be available soon?

Hard working player who gives everything. Sadly, he is also a striker who doesn't score goals! Need a couple more players.

Steve Evans is always looking at new angles with potential players, and willing to give players a fair crack of the whip, good luck to the lad if he goes there, might work out. I'm not Evans biggest fan, but he knows when to unload players with wrong attitudes....say no more!

We could do far better. I am sure Mick has someone lined up ready if this is true

Wonder if this has been initiated by Derby. When they agreed to the loan they probably did not see us as challengers this season. Why would they let him stay if they felt he could help us compete against them?

is this because they want him to get games? or because they think he is helping our cause against them in the promotion push???
