Gerken Replaces Bialkowski
Saturday, 7th Mar 2015 14:26

Town boss Mick McCarthy has recalled keeper Dean Gerken in place of Bartosz Bialkowski as he makes four changes for this afternoon’s home game against Brentford.

Elsewhere, the back four is unchanged but Richard Chaplow comes into the centre of midfield for the injured Kevin Bru with Jay Tabb set to move to the left and Jonny Parr likely to be on the right. Daryl Murphy and Freddie Sears return up front.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Chaplow, Parr, Tabb, Murphy, Sears. Subs: Bialkowski, Clarke, Anderson, Bishop, Connolly, Varney, Wood.

Brentford: Button, Bidwell, Douglas, Odubajo, Dallas, Judge, Gray, Diagouraga, Pritchard, Tarkowski, Moore. Subs: Bonham, Dean, McCormack, Toral, Jota, Smith, Long. Referee: Scott Duncan (Northumberland).

ha thats so defensive. Only contracting in builders to wall up the goal could be more so. ive been saying it for now months. but do i really need to bother, Tabb is UNDROPPABLE. Bart has a couple of dodgy games, dropped! tabb has 29 of them and his place is assured. Hmm who he has dirt on????

Bart is a good keeper but needs a rest out of the team. Hopefully this break will help him recapture his form from when he broke into the team. Positive we can get a result today! Glad chaplow is in the team. Tidy player which we will need today! COYB!!!

Christ. Replacing an out of form goalkeeper with a dodgy one! Where the hell are we supposed to get goals from that midfield? So bad.

@prebsa the day our manager starts taking advice from fans is on tactics is a sad day. He knows what he's doing. He sees the lads train all week and has been in the game long enough to know what his best team is. I agree with most when it comes to the back 4 but mick knows what he's doing.

Way to go Mick. You're blind and stubborn AGAIN. Full back in midfield. Centre back at full back. Useless gnome left wing. Scared rabbit at right centre back with no right foot. Premier league striker on bench. Poor copy of JJ shelvey centre mid instead of our own player and easily our best midfielder. Hope I'm wrong but you have screwed up again !!! This is why people are starting to protest by boycotting matches. And you called for fans to get behinf team. How can they when you won't give them what they want. Soooooo Stubborn.

...defence or goalkeeper that needed to change???...discuss....for me Gerken and Bali are much the same but the difference is that Bali shouts...and commands the box ...and instills confidence...and ..err hang on a minute!!
COYB .....desperate for a win today

No problem with the keeper change , but that selection cries out for three at the back with Parr as the right wing back

I'm going to back the team on the pitch and hope we get the three points come 5pm. Sure, I'd rather have a back four of Parr, Berra, Chambers and Mings, but I'm not the manager, MM is, and he certainly knows better than this failed footballer writing this post. Fans have a right to have their say, but now it's 3pm, it's time to actually back the players on the pitch. Praying for 3 points and far more positive comments after the game!

With Connolly Bishop Varney and Wood on the Bench at least there is a a "game changing" substitution available ... but why not go for it from the very off ????

With Sears AND Connolly then any defence will be ripped up ... just one pacy player in the whole team and the defence can cope much better.

That said - here's to a three point good win ....COYB !!!!

Poor decision Mick. You better hope Gerken don't make a mistake today. Where's your faith in Bart?? Who is a better keeper?! You kept faith with gerken last season, clanger after clanger. Bart is the better keeper
