Fulham Linked With McCarthy Move Sunday, 22nd Mar 2015 14:38 Fulham are reported to be interested in recruiting Town boss Mick McCarthy.
According to The Sun on Sunday the Cottagers plan on a move for the Blues manager if he fails take Town into the Premier League this season.
The Londoners are said to have been ready to offer Steve Bruce a £30,000 a week salary and a budget with which to sign players until he extended his Hull City contract and are now claimed to see McCarthy as the man to get them back into the Premier League.
Fulham, relegated from the top flight last season, are currently 20th in the Championship, eight points from the relegation places despite receiving lucrative parachute payments.
Current manager Kit Symons took over, initially as a caretaker-boss, following the departure of Felix Magath in September and is contracted until the end of next season.
McCarthy, whose family home is still in Bromley, signed a new three-year contract with the Blues last summer.

For all the complaints on here about MM recently (myself included), he is a loyal sort of guy so I can't see this happening. Saturday was a crucial game for us and I think he made the right choices regards tactics and the team. Hopefully the confidence will now return to the team to push on for the final games. COYB and MM!

Rubbish tabloid gossip...any way believe McCarthy is 'too in bed' with Evans to leave and don't believe it's McCarthy's way to be disloyal.

So what ? ............ media hype can sometimes be correct, but NOT always ....... by the proverbial mile to say the least. No doubt some will get their knickers in a twist just by hearing such nonsense - anyway, you only have to look North down the A140 to see that other possibilities are out there in terms of young ambitious Managers. So don't fret people - for many, many reasons. All is not lost or gained - as yet.

............ money always talks the most impressive language in this game anyway - so forget any talk of loyalty etc; ........ it's thinner in today's game than ever.

I suspect MM (and TC) are very well paid by ME and are extremely happy here. Why would they want to go?...ME has been very loyal to his managers so far (both keane and Jewell were kept on much longer than most of us wanted) and I suspect that whether we go up or not there will be money available (within the FFP rules) for MM to spend if he finds the players HE WANTS available. How do people on this site know that ME has denied MM funds when the right player has been available? I suspect that most of the transfer/loans not happening has been down to MM and not ME. MM has always made it clear that he agrees with keeping to the FFP rules and also that keeping a tight and happy changing room has been one of his priorities.

I hope that he stays, but money talks. Face it; if you were offered a massive pay rise to go to the firm down the road, wouldn't you take it? I would.

Can't see the pair going together, Fulham and McCarthy....that said who would of seen McCarthy as an Ipswich manager.....a few years mismanagement and anything is possible, we're living proof, never say never! Wonder if Mick would of played Best and Marsh in the same team....sorry I couldn't help that, made me giggle!!!! Horses for courses, and in McCarthy we have the ultimate work horse. Pulled us out of the mire, so he did.

If I look 'up the road' I see a bunch of 'premiership players' at a club with millions from parachute payments who were underperforming - I think a one eyed chimp or some of 'our regulars FIFA XBOX experts' on here could have gone up there and got em winning - As you say money talks - and we will not get someone coming to us unless they are given a big old pot of cash - we have none - and certainly a 'young unknown' wouldnt be given money - MM took that challenge on and it is paying off He has worked the miracle on fresh air and Noel Hunt and Chaplow have already been pretty good value - 'I wish we could have had Bent , Ince and Lingeard - they must be ripping it up at Derby - oh hold on a minute - they not won in six - Money talks BS sometimes and if you gamble there is a risk - just ask Alloa Athletic Chopra So ignore this tabloid BS - lets see out the season - and push us as high as we can finish - and those that want a change - be careful what you wish for - may get Felix McG type !! So , to entertain those wanting a change - respect your opinion , but disagree - when do you want him gone and give me some names of who you think will come to a club with no major transfer fund ?? Oh, and have us challenging for promotion ... Discuss .... the floor is yours

All about opinions - and we respect differing opinions - Has Mick moved the club forward YES - are we in a better position and still in the hunt to go up YES , is he better than the 'Dork from Cork' and PJ YES ... MM has managed in the premiership and taken teams up and is on course with us - Is MM a good manager - YES - IMO

You too warktheline? Well I'm glad you guys are happy with McCarthy. In my opinion, and I am a thinking person who is entitled to one, we need to move on to a manager who is capable of playing the modern game.
blueherts added 14:51 - Mar 24
As I have said I respect you or any other 'thinking man' and their opinions . The modern game , alas is less of a 'game' and more of a business nowadays Owners want their piece of the coveted 'Premiership gold and all the trappings it brings with it - but the risks are high and gamble at your peril - look at Portsmouth and others ... As fans we all would love to see us pinging it about like Arsenal or even Bournemouth but alas the club has not had that type of set up for years Keane and Jewell took the club so far backwards it needed a major operation to stop us going further down With no funds , Mick did that moved us on and got us up the table and competing for promotion Why would Mick sign a player like Jonny Williams if he has only one way to play ? Please tell me how this major restructring will take place of getting us playing the 'modern game' and give me some names of managers you 'know' will do it with ; a) No funds b) get us playing 'modern football' c) move us forward As I said the other week - would you rather we were a club spending the next 5 years re building with new owners , manager and getting a squad playing 'modernfootball' that 'may ' get us up or b) get promoted into the premiership All about opinions - yes I am happy with MM so please let us know your alternative solutions

Don't think Mick wants to leave. But my concern is another club offers him a transfer budget. Let's face it only a handful of clubs are sticking to FFP and the penalties aren't very harsh. Mick may be tempted with a budget if we don't go up. I hope not.

Walk the Wark: It's not abuse old friend, all fans one way or another, it's banter. But, having said that, you must be a candidate for the monster raving looney party, am I pleased with MM, in general, yes! Look where we were & where we are now, doesn't take a mathematician to work that one out. Frustrated at the style of football sometimes but look what he has to play with & again, our league position.
