Town Confirm Tabb Extension Monday, 18th May 2015 18:24 Town have confirmed that midfielder Jay Tabb’s contract has been extended for a further year.
As reported earlier, the 31-year-old’s existing deal included a clause for an additional season which the club has activated.
Former Irish U21 international Tabb has made 57 starts and 24 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring four times, since joining Town, initially on loan from Reading, in March 2013.

OMG .............. completely defies belief, in my opinion.

For me I'd have rather kept Ando than Tabb. Not saying he has done a bad job, but we need better, if we are going to kick on. His hustle and bustle is needed to close down teams, but he's not a winger and ever has been.

Disagree with this that, don't see why we should keep him. Doesn't offer us much. Would rather keep ando. Hope this doesn't stip us signing other midfielders.

This is good for us. I know people moan a bout him and at times he has looked off the boil, but MM trusts him, he does a better job than most realise and its all about continuity. Hes never going to win over people with his flash play, but he does a decent job when asked.

........ Anderson has far more to offer ........... bet MM couldn't wait to sign 'Tabby' up. Is this a sign of what's to come ?........ certainly would hope for more in the way of an optimistic note to close the season. Certainly a talking point Michael - doubt it will enthral too many.

When Ando first joined he got so much stick on TWTD it was untrue, and I'm pleased to say I always fought his corner. A really talented player, I guess if you score against Norwich and clear off the goal line Town fans can forgive a lot. Good luck Ando, if you do move on. As for Tabb, sure he has the odd off day but few work harder for the team, a good little player in every sense, I'm glad you're staying JT.

Tabb had a bad season in the derbies, which is bound to colour views of him. And I daresay he's cheaper than Ando, who I would welcome back. But they're not directly comparable Tabb also offers experienced cover for Skuse if he gets injured and is more generally versatile. If McCarthy has right midfielder in mind then this makes a lot of sense.

When I read headline, I thought we'd managed to make him taller, oh well

Can't understand this I'm afraid. Tabb works hard and has chipped in at some important times this season, however, in the big games he just lacks the quality. People on here slating Anderson are wrong to do so. We forget he started many games before Christmas and played well, he then got dropped but has recently refound the form he showed at the start of the season. Tabb is a decent squad player but to really push for the top two next season, I don't think we shall see too much of him. He wouldn't ever displace a midfield trio of Bishop Bru and Skuse, in my opinion, but Mick has got us this far so he knows what he's doing and I trust him to make the right decision.

Deserved and more consistent and versatile than Anderson. Works hard and can be used as cover, expect with a good preseason Cameron Stewart to show next season

I'm disappointed. Tabb has been poor since Christmas and made yet another error which cost us a goal at Norwich. Wouldn't even have him on the bench. I find it bizarre that we chose to keep him on. Offers nothing. Anderson would have been a better squad player. Bizarre. We could do so much better. If Tabb is a starter next year, we may as well give up.

Well that sends out a message of absolute fear to the rest of the championship and in one foul swoop has taken 2000 off the opening home games gate. He offered nothing.

My 10yr old son can player a better standard of football than Tabb. I am not saying it to jump on any band wagon or to be offensive it is just the harsh truth. Tabb is not a championship level midfielder, in fact he is not even close to it.

NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! I really can't believe this... he brings nothing to the side apart from running around like a headless chicken!!

Other than working hard, name me one thing Tabb excels at...

Boooooooooo! Slow, short, weak, no technical ability and mistake for the norwich game was how I hoped to remember him! Need to get rid of the time wasters and let the likes of these sort of players leave, even if you do love them and 'they work hard' something you say to an under 9s team, so frustrated, worst player in the team, should be looking forward and can't with players like him

......... we can but hope that, 'man' and 'manager' prove us wrong next season. Other than run everywhere, which he does - where can anyone see any improvement coming from within his game ??
blueboy1981 added 19:38 - May 18
MM being his normal stubborn self - maybe this past season is 'as good as it gets'. Certainly hope not - and we'll all be proved wrong to be sceptical .............. I Wonder !!! .... time will tell folks.

Would like to know why we require someone more interested in his golf handicap than performing for us... If he proves me wrong, I'll eat my hat

A lot of Tabb haters on here. Well I happen to agree with MM. Unless we get someone better he is worth his place in the squad (plenty of negatives coming up). There must be others out there who support Tabb staying? Ando probably gets support for his efforts in the playoffs. But too often he put in plenty of effort with no end result.
