Wednesday, 10th Jun 2015 15:10

Fortuna Düsseldorf's official press conference covering their new season opening celebrations took place yesterday afternoon at the premises of matchday sponsors Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and Ulli Münsterberg (pictured above, right) from the Fortuna Blues, the main instigator of the July 17th friendly, was there and is looking forward to the game.

The match between Fortuna Düsseldorf and Ipswich Town will be that weekend’s outstanding highlight. We are looking forward to welcoming Ipswich Town supporters and we’re planning a great weekend with all of us together here in Düsseldorf.

A party for both sets of supporters will be organised after the match at Stahlwerk, a disco/bar set in a former steelworks, which is a walkable distance away from our Paul-Janes-Stadion.

Further information about tickets will be announced by both clubs via their websites along with additional press announcements.

Coverage of yesterday’s press conference can be found here (in German).

Dr Dirk Kall (Fortuna chairman), Paul Jaeger (managing director), Ulli and Rainer Pennekamp (Stadtwerke Düsseldorf)

Further information for Town fans on ticketing and fans activities will be also be updated on TWTD, the Supporters Club’s website, @ITSCofficial on Twitter and on Facebook.

The Supporters Club’s guide to Düsseldorf can be found here.

Düsseldorf is, of course, the home of Kraftwerk and where their KlingKlang studios are situated. KlingKlang is German for 'ding dong', no idea if there is a German equivalent of Terry Thomas though.

It would be nice to see some of our heirarchy showing the same support and enthusiasm for this game!

Yes it is a must trip and will be unbelievable for so many reasons, some not yet known!!

It should be made an annual match without doubt with proceeds going to charity----our very own Charity Shield.

See you all in the biggest bar in Europe!!

Us Ex-pats living in Germany and supporting the Tractor Boyz at every opportunity find it exquisite that the friendly is taking place close to our home. Can we buy tickets online or is it "on the day" admission? Seen the map for the other stadium so we are coming by train from Osnabrueck. Do we have a link for the sprecial scarf or is it buy on the day?

Booked ferry crossings and hostel (making a weekend of it) for myself and three others, really looking forward to it. Does anybody think it will be difficult to get tickets, just being a bit of a worry wart.
