Five Changes at Hull
Tuesday, 20th Oct 2015 19:04

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made five changes for this evening’s game at Hull City with Giles Coke, Jonny Parr, Kevin Bru, Larsen Touré and Daryl Murphy all starting.

Cole Skuse (ankle) and David McGoldrick (groin) both miss out due to injury with Freddie Sears, Brett Pitman and Ainsley Maitland-Niles dropping to the bench.

The Blues look set to line-up in a 4-3-3 with Murphy in the centre of the front three with Parr on the left and Touré on the right and Coke, Douglas and Bru the midfield trio.

Skuse and McGoldrick both travelled and the injuries aren't thought to be serious. Ryan Fraser (knee), Tommy Oar (concussion), Luke Hyam (knee) and Teddy Bishop (hamstring and shin splints) are all unavailable.

Former Town loanee Jake Livermore starts for the Tigers, while ex-Blues defender Alex Bruce and one-time trialist Eldin Jakupović are on the bench.

Hull City: McGregor, Odubajo, Dawson (c), Davies, Robertson, Meyler, Livermore, Elmohamady, Clucas, Akpom, Hernandez. Subs: Jakupović, Bruce, Huddlestone, Maguire, Maloney, Diamé, Aluko.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Smith, Berra, Knudsen, Coke, Bru, Douglas, Touré, Parr, Murphy. Subs: Bialkowski, Maitland-Niles, Pitman, Sears, Malarczyk, McDonnell, Emmanuel. Referee: Christopher Kavanagh (Lancashire).

Strange team choice but can't argue it is different - apart from the back 4. Hope Smith and Berra are up to scratch tonight. Hull have plenty of pace and will pull them all over the place. On a slightly different note I was a bit pi$$ed off hearing McCarthy question whether some people were supporters because they questioned his selections and style. We will be here long after he has gone and we are entitled to ask the questions.

As mentioned a very defensive starting line up - all our creative players are picking up knocks/injuries leaving us...well with very little.
Saying that I fancy a hard earned point tonight (which Mick will love).

AMN dropped is the right call. Bru in is a good thing. Parr and Toure could be iffy.

Certainly a 4-5-1.

On a lighter note has MM acquired a Labra doodle (Britain's favourite dog. Great move if he has and guaranteed to out run any defence. I'll get my coat!!!!!!!!

Surely the area we are all most frustrated with, the back 5, back to the same old. I'm a little confused with all this.

Teddy Bishop shin splints now!?! - doesn't sound good, Kieron Dyer use to suffer with this problem and missed quite a few matches due to it.

Interesting line up. Good to see bru in there apart from that very uninspiring/defensive. Big game for Murphy though looked sharp when he came on against huddersfield, think he very much enjoys being the main man up top so this could be the game to get him back on track. Fingers crossed, this will be a tough one.

2 nil and appalling again. Come on MM damage limitation will be good rather than try to get back into it. I give up.

Looks like the idiots are right again !!! Same poor defence letting in goals for fun and again from set pieces . Don't worry though because they were all outstanding again like the rest of the season

Its official we are now in free fall. MM 5 changes and nothing changes.

If the defence play badly they get selected , if the forwards play well they are still dropped ?
Anyone comparing us to the Bournemouth side of last year are deluded like the manager

This team are no longer playing for MM.
Add to that the some players being undroppable and ridiculous team selections and formations and its the beginning of the end im afraid.

Currie10 - not sure Bru is a great creative spark is he? He's more box to box and a more advanced thinking mid than Douglas but not a true creative spark. I'd argue Bishop, McGoldrick, Sears, Niles and Fraser are.

accusing his players of lack of loyalty, in public, was a stupid move. Pack our goal now with all 11 to prevent any more.

It really beggars belief , time to get rid I beleive , he has not got a clue which players to pick to get a balanced team. Relegation beckons at this rate. What has Bart done so wrong? Gerken can do no wrong!
