Emmanuel Returns from Crawley Monday, 4th Jan 2016 11:11 Crawley Town have confirmed that Blues right-back Josh Emmanuel has returned to Portman Road following the conclusion of his month on loan with the League Two club on Saturday. Emmanuel made one start and one sub appearance for the Red Devils, with whom Town centre-half Josh Yorwerth will remain on loan for the rest of the season. Blues boss Mick McCarthy is likely to be keen to send the 18-year-old out on loan elsewhere to gain experience, however, the academy product could be involved in Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at home to Portsmouth. Meanwhile,Town defender Matt Clarke, who is on loan with Pompey, says he had a premonition that he was going to score during Pompey’s 3-0 victory over Crawley on Saturday, the 19-year-old’s first senior goal. “On a personal note, I’m delighted to get my first goal,” he told the Portsmouth News. “I got the space and it just flew past [keeper Darryl Flahavan], so I was pleased with that. It’s the sort of moment you dream of in front of the Fratton End. “I live with Ben Tollitt and told him I was going to score. I told him to put a tenner on it. I don’t know what my odds are to be first goalscorer, but I can imagine they are pretty high! “The three points are most important, of course, but it was a special moment. I used to play in midfield but I’ve never been much of a goalscorer. So, for one to go in like that is nice for me.” On Thursday, Town boss McCarthy confirmed that Clarke, who is ineligible for Saturday's cup tie between his loan side and parent club, will stay on loan with Pompey for the rest of the season.
