Ex-Arsenal Youngster Linked Wednesday, 27th Jan 2016 16:17
Town, Bristol City and Wigan are reported to be showing interest in bringing former Arsenal youngster Chuks Aneke back to England from Belgian side Zulte Waregem.
According to the Mirror, Waregem are in financial trouble and looking to offload their saleable assets, including the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who has previously had loan spells with Stevenage, Preston and, pictured above, Crewe. He joined Waregem in the summer of 2014 following his release by Arsenal.
The ex-England U16, U17, U18 and U19 international would appear to be an unlikely Town target, particularly given that the Belgian club are said to be keen to raise “significant funds” from his sale.

Reminds me of a yaya toure kind of player, shame i cant see it happening if it means a significant fee is required. But if we are looking at attacking midfielders does it mean bishes injury is longer than expected.
76Blue, I remember watching clips of AMN on youtube when were looking to sign him and was so excited! Since he's been here as far as I'm concerned he has not lived up to my expectations. Video's of players look so exciting before the player comes to ITFC and we all get excited.........then it never works out. I think we have to start asking why? Is it the club? Is it the owner? Is it the manager? Or is it the supporters?
All players are described as brilliant before they get here, were so lucky to have them in our strong squad.........then we find out they are not really that good. Where are the Freddie Sears out there, young excellent players that want to prove a point and have the right attitude? Trawl the lower league's more!!
For many years I just automatically renew my season ticket in the hope that this will be our season. Not from what I've witnessed this season it's not. I'm getting tired of the crap football and weak playing squad we are frequently told is good enough to compete. I'm fed up of the club only talking of bringing in players who are old pro's who can't get contracts (What does that tell you?) or players who are coming back from injury and have not played for months. Sign a midfielder from a lower league, who has been ever present in the team and wants to progress and likes to run forwards and score goals and set others up.........please! Not somebody who can't be arsed, not fit and is quite happy to sit on the bench. I'm starting to think that maybe MM's plan, someone coming in who's too good will upset the apple cart and he will have to drop a favourite.
Christ, an attacking midfielder that would cost something?! The only attacking midfielder we would bring in is a free agent whose past his best at 35. We were lucky we were so high in the table last season to have a wobble from January onwards, this year we are outside the play offs and still won't spend a penny. Mid table finish on the hands? I tell you what if we do, serious questions need to be asked about our ambition of this millionaire owner!
Cloddyseedbed so true Portman Road has become the Championship equivalent of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel except we're not the best nor are we exotic more accurately we are dull, dire and dour as is our stodgy Manager.
CLODDYSEEDBED - Spot on - Sears was a great bit of proper scouting business , now why not do some more MM - Does he only know ex Wolves players ? what about Moncur at Col U - there must be some others aside from Digby and Foley - Or did all the money go on Mick and Terrys contract ?
Unlike last January's transfer window nobody seems to be sniffing around our players. That speaks volumes. Mick needs to pull another rabbit out of the hat like Freddie Sears last season otherwise we may well fall short of the play-offs. Failing that we need Bishop and/or McGoldrick fit soon to spark some creativity. Has-beens and freebies are unlikely to cut the mustard.
All our rivals are spending money or doing loans for the run in, but not us the manager with his head in the sand thinks we are good enough!! sorry big man you are wrong we need strengthening if we are to be seen as contenders!!
@jonbull88, I'm guessing you're one of these fans that is happy with championship football every season? I'm not saying spend millions, but on one or two players to strengthen in areas we need strengthening cannot hurt Evans' bank balance, given that he's made some decent sales in the past few seasons.
well this player knows where the giant is of the you tube selection is anything to go by. But what did strike me about him was his apparent lack of pace. Would he be very effective in the hurly burly Championship?
Does anybody seriously believe MM,TC & ME aren't looking for new recruits that cost? I think it's more likely that other clubs are seeing the need of ITFC in being so close, yet so far from the play-offs and asking silly money, the players asking silly wages, the agent wanting his pound of flesh. Most supporters agree on the requirements of the team, most agree players are earning/costing an awful lot, most respect what MM & Co are trying to do.Keep the faith,a good signing will come, the play off place beckons but financial sense should always prevail, surely?
Who was the dickhead who said 'buy the club'. When will you clowns realise that when the Evans Corporation no longer sees the club as a viable tax relief they will pull out. We are never going anywhere UNTIL the club has a new owner and the sooner the better
