Town Down to Ninth Saturday, 20th Feb 2016 17:27 Town dropped to ninth in the Championship, five points from the play-offs with a game in hand on Sheffield Wednesday in sixth, following today’s fixtures having started the day eighth. Derby (54 points) came from behind to win 3-1 at Brentford to climb back to fifth ahead of the Owls (53), who lost 1-0 at Preston. Cardiff City (49) moved up to seventh following their 4-1 home victory over Brighton (fourth, 57), a point ahead of eighth-placed Birmingham and the Blues (both 48), who weren’t in action today. Meanwhile, Town’s Tuesday opponents, Championship leaders Hull City, made 10 changes as they drew 0-0 with Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup. Elsewhere, in League One, on-loan Blues winger Cameron Stewart played the first 52 minutes as Doncaster lost 1-0 at Barnsley. In League Two, Josh Yorwerth picked up an assist as Crawley drew 1-1 at home to Plymouth Argyle, while Matt Clarke was an unused sub as 10-man Portsmouth’s game at Yeovil ended with the same scoreline. Keeper Michael Crowe’s loan side Braintree made the long trip to Barrow in the Vanarama National League only for their game to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Young striker Cemal Ramadan’s loan club Maldon and Tiptree had their Ryman League Division One North match at Waltham Abbey called off, also because of a waterlogged pitch. Academy scholar Nick Ingram played the full 90 minutes as Bury Town drew 1-1 at home to Cray Wanderers in the Ryman League Division One North.
