Town Continue to Build Links With University Friday, 29th Jul 2016 15:13 Town are continuing to forge closer links with University Campus Suffolk, which will see sports science students learning on site at the Blues’ training ground. “The university is investing a lot in sports science and - as is the case with one or two clubs and other universities - we’ve had a relationship for a number of years where we’ve used some of their facilities and they’ve used some of ours,” MD Ian Milne told TWTD. “They’re able to teach their students on site with a live football club. We’re trying to expand that relationship with them. “We are continuously building on our relationship, it’s a strong relationship, and to enhance that we’re looking at assisting the University in having facilities at our training ground. “We’re working with them on a joint project to assist them and it would assist us at our training ground.” TWTD understands that as part of the enhanced link plans for a jointly-funded new building at the training ground are under discussion. However, Milne added: “We’ve got ideas in our head of cementing the relationship a bit further but there are no details at the moment." Meanwhile, Sky Sports have claimed the Blues have made an enquiry regarding Fulham striker Ross McCormack. Given newly-relegated Norwich City are reported to have made an offer in excess of £10 million offer for the 29-year-old Scotland international the report would appear to be some way off the mark. Elsewhere, Town's U18s are in action at the Liverpool FC Football Cup this weekend. The young Blues beat Finnish side TPS Turku 2-0 in their opening game yesterday but lost 1-0 to Swedes AIK Stockholm earlier this afternoon.
