Supporters' Trust Holding AGM
Thursday, 4th May 2017 11:01

Ipswich Town 1st, the independent supporters' trust, is holding its AGM at Silent Street Labour Club on Wednesday 10th May (7pm).

Chairman Alasdair Ross says the trust, which was formed in 2003 in the wake of Town’s period in administration, is looking for new people to get involved in its running.

“Many of the trust board are standing down so we need new blood not only to keep the trust going but to take it further forward in making sure the club hear the supporters’ voice,” he said.

“The recent fiasco over season ticket sales is just another example of why a Supporters Trust is needed at this club.”

Would be a pity if this folded,as it is independent;unlike the supporters club run by Liz Edwards;which is embedded in the club.

Don't get me wrong Mrs Edwards does a very good job raising funds, and the social side;but sitting on the board,I am not sure if she is likely to 'rock the boat'of the Corporate Marcus Evans Group of which ITFC is just a part. This has been highlighted with the sale of the bulk of his production company to ITV.

I'm sure he would do the same with the football club if the terms were right, and he made
a profit.

Probably worth clarifying that Liz isn't on the board of the club but the PLC, which is made of of the pre-takeover shareholders and has a 12.5 per cent stake in the club.
