Far-Flung Fans Meeting Up for Final Game at Forest
Friday, 5th May 2017 23:03

With Sunday’s final game of the season at Nottingham Forest being shown live on TV in the UK and abroad, Town fans across the country and around the globe will be meeting up in pubs and bars to cheer the Blues on as they look to end a disappointing season on a high note (Sky Sports Three, from 11.30am, kick-off midday).

If you’re watching Sunday’s match - which could see the Blues help the home side into League One - at a pub or bar in some far-flung part of the nation or world, post it below. Please do not post links to illegal streams here or on the forum.

Overseas fans will get the chance to see Town a regular basis next season with the EFL providing live streams of every non-televised game from the start of 2017/18. Full access to the service, called iFollow, will cost £110.

EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said: ”The new iFollow platform represents a potentially significant new revenue stream for clubs, while enabling enhanced engagement with existing fans now living abroad.

"iFollow will also present the EFL with an important opportunity to stimulate the interest of new groups of supporters who follow our clubs overseas, which in turn will help support the growth of our competitions on the international stage."

Meanwhile, a list of UK pubs showing Sunday’s game can be found here.

Not on Matchpint, but that website is not infallible, I will be giving The Isles in Portree a look in. If they do not have it on I will go for a nice walk and have a pint later.

A Forest 2-1 win looks a fair bet at 7/1 odds. I think there is no chance of us getting a result, nothing to play for and who wants to take an injury on holiday with them. Forest, on the other hand.....

Hope we put on a good show, although I can see Forest winning this. At least there will be a bit of "nerve" in the match, but without the result being life-and-death for us. So could actually be quite enjoyable! We could have been in Forest's position. There but for the grace... and so on. COYB!

Heard about a new streaming service next year - iFollow - which allows overseas supporters (like me!) to catch live coverage of teams outside EPL for a fee of about Singapore Dollars 200 a year. Worth the money as currently ipswich is only featured in about 6 games a year (out of 46 games a season) thru cable tv.

COYB!!!

I live in Bourne too!!!

I can't watch the match though, as I have to babysit my daughter and I don't think I'd be able to take her into the pub...

iFollow -- will be running radio commentary as well for UK fans. Hopefully they can do better the current set up, which tends to drop every 3 or 4 matches resulting in having to log in to the opponent's site. The company running iFollow, NeuLion, runs the yank NFL live, which is illegally streamed, so I am concerned that next season every EFL and EPL match will be available on these streams.
