Tuesday, 18th Jul 2017 18:39

Town’s team for the first hour of tonight’s 120-minute friendly at Peterborough United sees on-loan Manchester City man Bersant Celina make his first appearance in a Town shirt. (KO 7pm).

Also starting are skipper Luke Chambers, who missed the game at Drogheda having had his tonsils out, and striker David McGoldrick, who was given an extended break following Ireland duty earlier in the summer.

Missing from the squad is keeper Bartosz Bialkowski, who is ill with a stomach bug, as has been Tom Adeyemi.

Emyr Huws, who has only just returned to training, and Andre Dozzell, who was with the England U19s until earlier this week, and Adam Webster, who has had an ankle problem.

Dominic Iorfa will make his first appearance in a Town shirt - with the red away strip getting an outing for the first time - in the second hour.

The match will be played in four periods of half an hour with a five-minute break between the first two quarters.

Both clubs plan to change their XIs in their entirety at the midway point when there will be a break of half an hour with the second 60 minutes expected to end at around 9.35pm.

First hour XI: Gerken, Spence, Chambers, Knudsen, Nydam, Rowe, Bru, Downes, Celina, Garner, McGoldrick.

Second hour XI: Crowe, T Smith, Kenlock, Iorfa, C Smith, Skuse, McKendry, Bishop, Ward, Sears, Morris. Subs: Fowler, Folami, Daniels, McGavin, McLoughlin, Patterson, McDonnell.

Bit confused to why Bru is playing if Mick is so keen to let him go? Praying Bart is actually ill, or my seasons optimism has gone completely!!

Like others, just like last season, I really hope the early optimism of a couple of decent fee signings isn't undone by a key asset sale for far more than we spent! Murphy last year - let's hope it's not Bart this!

Great opportunity for the youngsters tonight. But for me the squad of senior professionals remains weak.

I wouldn't be putting any price on Bart's head.
Let's welcome no offers as He's in my opinion priceless to our team.
He's one of the best outside the Prem and He's our number One...End of.

Its ok guys we have Gerken - hes different class! I sometimes wonder if by a bizarre twist of coincidence, MM has blinked or sneezed or something every time Gerks has flapped in the past - hence his vastly different assessment of him compared to just about everyone else... either that or he's his secret love child or something?
