McDonnell and Fowler Help Shots to Top of Table
Saturday, 16th Sep 2017 21:29

Blues pair Adam McDonnell and George Fowler played the full 90 minutes as their loan club Aldershot won 1-0 away at Gateshead to climb to the top of the Vanarama National League table.

Fabien Robert scored the game’s only goal seven minutes from time as the Shots, who lead Dover Athletic on goal difference, recorded their first ever win at Gateshead.

Midfielder McDonnell and defender Fowler are both on loan with the Hampshire club for an initial month.

Elsewhere, striker Kieffer Moore was unable to add to his season’s six goals as his loan side Rotherham lost 1-0 at Bradford.

Right-back Josh Emmanuel again wasn’t involved having only just returned to training after a toe injury.

Interesting day for some of our exes. Pitman scored for Portsmouth; McEveley and O'Dea both got sent off; and what about Nick Pope starring for Burnley at Anfield??–who ever thought he's be a top-flight keeper?
