Striker Morris Signs New Deal
Thursday, 9th Nov 2017 16:32

Young Town striker Ben Morris has signed a new contract which runs to the summer of 2019 with the club having an option for a further season.

Colchester-born Morris, who has won England caps at U17 and U18 levels and came through the Town academy, made his senior bow for Town as a sub at Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in August.

Last season the 18-year-old, who top-scored for the U23s with 12 in 2016/17 and has netted twice for Gerard Nash's side during this campaign, spent a brief spell on loan with Woking in the Vanarama National League last season, making two sub appearances.

Great news. He is one of the academy players who will hopefully break into the first team soon.

Gerard Nash certainly seems to know how to get the best out of our youngsters!

Would much rather Morris or Folami on the bench than Sears right now to be honest. Great news.

Never quite sure why Freddy Sears gets it in the neck because a young player signs a new contract. Well done Ben.
