McCarthy: No Suggestion of Not Seeing Season Out
Wednesday, 14th Mar 2018 13:02

Town boss Mick McCarthy says he has no intention of leaving the club before the end of the season.

Speaking to BBC Radio Suffolk after last night’s 3-0 defeat to Hull City which took place in a fractious Portman Road atmosphere, he said: "I have no intention of doing anything other than seeing the season out.”

Asked again if he might move on before the end of the campaign, he added: "Not at all with nine games to play. I'm going to Bristol City on Saturday fired up as ever. There's no suggestion of that for me now."

McCarthy, who has been in charge of the Blues since November 2012, is out of contract in the summer but with owner Marcus Evans having an option to extend his terms for a further two seasons.

The Town boss is among a number of members of staff and players at the club's golf day at Ufford Park today.

he knows he's a dead man walking...20,000 + fans cannot be wrong...bye bye you saved us from the drop in your first year , then should have been replaced...better than the dark lord, probably better than jewel but none of you are as good as the bloke before you, considering the money you all spent...

As I understand it to be a “true supporter” you have to accept whatever happens at the club, you must never voice an opinion that questions the club's ambition, never question a manager's decisions, always turn up at PR no matter how the team is performing, however boring and predictable the outcome will be. In my opinion these so called are not “true supporters” they are sheep blindly following without thought, always expecting things to get better with no real evidence to back their belief

If MM really told the players on the pitch after the Hull game that he was the reason for the toxic atmosphere and apologised just WHY is he still here?

If I ever realised it was me in a similar position I would be off like a shot, never want to be where I am not wanted or appreciated.

Guess it must just be the money and his arrogant, stubborn attitude.

I thought Roy Keane nearly destroyed this club but this fellah is having a damn good go!!

Spot on mate, anyone who backs the current regime is absolutely clueless when it comes to football.
There is absolutely nothing positive happening at Portman Road at the moment and this will remain the same until big.changes are made.
I just hope that its sooner rather than later.....before its too late and fans are lost forever!

The day MM was appointed my heart sunk. I knew we were in for some pretty awful negative football but never thought it could be as appalling as it has been. Unfortunately MM is not much more than a yob lacking manners or any decorum. We had a reputation in football of respect and good manners, SBR, Sir Alf, George B, even John Duncan are or were gentlemen but we have this embarrassment running the club I have watched since 1961. ME is not & never has been a football person, purely a businessman. ITFC was purely a business venture and God knows what has gone on with club assets etc. Is Playford road safe? I doubt it. My oldest friend knows Evans quite well so I do get to hear a few things and as far as ITFC is concerned it is worrying. I'll just stick to watching Leiston, at least the football is entertaining

The football industry has had it TOO GOOD for TOO LONG. What is happening now is the result of highly paid contracts and repeat contracts for achieving nothing. Footballers just bouncing from one club to another and managers doing "matey" favours. Too many bang average players have ended up at Ipswich for too long. Sadly, Mick McCarthy has built this wall around himself and the supporters of this club are on the outside. McCarthy is only in it for the money and so are most of the footballers today. There is more honesty and passion in non league football.

I didn't want to even think this, but I have come to the conclusion that MM is as thick as two short planks
