U23s Host Cardiff
Wednesday, 4th Apr 2018 11:54

Tristan Nydam, Michael Crowe, Ben Morris and Aaron Drinan will all be involved when Town’s U23s take on Cardiff City at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).

The young Blues are currently second in the Professional Development League Two South table, 12 points behind leaders Crystal Palace but with a game in hand.

With the first-team squad and staff having been given two days off following the Easter fixtures, not too much should be read into manager Mick McCarthy not attending if he isn’t at the game.

So Michael Crowe is not classed as being part of the first team squad. Funnny that there's me thinking I've seen him on the bench for the past two months.

Village_Blue - How many minutes has he played? I think its wise to keep him active!

Prehaps there time should be showing Knudson the correct way to cross a ball or free kicks that are awful corners that are wasted time better spent than a couple of days off

All of Tristan Nydam, Michael Crowe, Ben Morris and Aaron Drinan should be in 1st team squad NOW. I don't care if the opposition still have something to play for, or protecting my own reputation in the game (Mick), i just care about ITFC and our future.

bluey123 re Knudsen, I'd add and how to mark and close down, how to prevent opposition getting crosses in and how not to be caught out of position and don't just stand there and let opposition win a header to score a goal. Maybe MM will take him with him. :)

This is the real downside of MM having the rest of the season in charge. Now, with nothing to play for, is the time to give youngsters first team experience and let them learn, with no pressure to gain every last point. Unfortunately MM has nothing to gain by developing next year's squad, and is only interested in maximising points and personal kudos.

Agree re Knudsen. He cant pass very well, and not impressed with him at full back either.Having said that does show more effort than Spence who several times has lost the ball upfield;but doesn't 'bust a gut'to get back into his right back position.

Thought that Knudsen was at fault for Millwalls headed goal.Up the wrong end of field to see during match;but having watched replay several times,he is right next to their scorer, but doesn't get off the ground.

He is however one of Micks 3 muskateers who seem to play regardless.

Thank goodness this is coming to an end;but like almost everyone don't want Pardew or McLaren.
