Three Changes as Blues End Season Against Boro
Sunday, 6th May 2018 12:19

Cole Skuse, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Freddie Sears return to the Blues’ line-up for their final game of the season at home to Middlesbrough.

The injured Mustapha Carayol and Ben Folami drop out while Luke Woolfenden moves to the bench.

Town will again start with three at the back with Jordan Spence over the knee injury which had made him a doubt going into the match at right wing-back.

Middlesbrough, who are confirmed in the play-offs but will be looking to seal fifth spot, are unchanged from the team which beat Millwall 2-0 at home last week. Former Blues skipper Grant Leadbitter is on the bench.

Town: Bialkowski, Webster, Carter-Vickers, Knudsen, Spence, Skuse (c), Connolly, Nydam, Kenlock, Sears, Waghorn. Subs: M Crowe, Gleeson, Hyam, Morris, Cotter, Woolfenden, McLoughlin.

Middlesbrough: Randolph, Friend, Ayala, Shotton, Gibson (c), Clayton, Assombalonga, Howson, Downing, Besic, Traore. Subs: Konstantopoulos, Fabio, Leadbitter, Bamford, Cranie, Fry, Harrison. Referee: David Coote (Nottinghamshire).

I wonder if this is some indication that Klug thinks CCV will be back next year. Otherwise, I cannot fathom playing him instead of the Wolf Man.

Disappointed that emerging players not getting a game - it's almost certainly Carter-Vickers' last game for Town, no promo/relegation issues at stake, why not give Woolfenden more game time? Similarly Spencer and Cotter - Spencer may be first choice, but Cotter needs experience and what better time to give it to him?

I suppose that the answer is that Klug wants a win and has picked his best available players

Don’t think it would do much for Woolfenden being thrown in the deep end at home to a team like boro. Could ruin any momentum he has if it’s a bad day at the office.

Would like to see him get game time however just think it’s correct not to start him

klug knows better than anyone what the youth need to progress, so happy to back him on this one.
is celina injured? better for the club to give our players a game, but would've nice to see him get a send-off...
