Knudsen in 27-Man Denmark Squad for Training Camp Sunday, 27th May 2018 21:35 Blues left-back Jonas Knudsen has been named in a 27-man Denmark squad for their pre-World Cup training camp in Helsingør which begins tomorrow. The party has been reduced from the 35-player provisional squad selected a fortnight ago. The final 23 which will travel to Russia will be announced on Monday 4th June. In March, Knudsen won his third full international cap in a 0-0 friendly draw with Chile, and his first since joining Town. Speaking last month, the 25-year-old said "it would mean everything" to him to win a place at the finals where Denmark will play Peru, Australia and France in the group stages. “It was fantastic to get back into the squad again and the manager [Ã…ge Hareide] told me I trained well," he said. “It is not easy to get into the Danish team because they have done well to qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia, so to get 90 minutes against Chile was terrific for me. “I am hopeful of going to Russia and I have a chance but there is still a lot of work to do. First and foremost I have to do well for Ipswich in the six remaining games.” Prior to the finals the Danes are playing friendlies away in Sweden on Saturday 2nd June and at home against Mexico the following Saturday.
