Town Launch New Kits
Tuesday, 29th May 2018 18:13

Town have revealed their kits for the 2018/19 season, which see a return to white sleeves for the home strip, as well as red detailing, and orange for the away.

Last week, the Blues agreed a new four-year deal with adidas, the club's kit manufacturers since 2014.

“Reverting to a retro-inspired round neck, Town’s new home shirt features white sleeves with blue and red contrast detailing,” the club explain on the official site.

"The red detailing continues across the adidas three-stripe branding to the shirt shoulders, shorts side panels and sock turnovers.

“The away kit is one of the most striking kits yet from adidas. The solar orange shirt, shorts and socks, feature contrast black detailing. It’s sure to be easy to spot from a distance, being the brightest away kit Town have worn in recent times.

“Continuing the orange theme, Town’s goalkeepers will also wear an orange kit when turning out at Portman Road.”

The kits will all bear the new EFL names and numbers, in partnership with mental health charity Mind, which will also be available on replica strips. Town’s shirts will also again feature local charity EACH and the new shorts sponsor Nicholas Estates.

The away kit will be available via Planet Blue and online from Friday 8th June with hte new home strip due at Portman Road at the end of June, with a launch date of Friday 29th June having been pencilled in. The home kit can be pre-ordered online from Tuesday, 6th June.

The two goalkeeper kits will be launched in July on a date yet to be confirmed.

The shirts will be priced at £45 for adults and £35 youth sizes, which won’t include the Magical Vegas logo due to EFL rules on gambling sponsors.

The kits will be on display on the Town stand at the Suffolk Show on Wednesday and Thursday.

Don't care what the kit looks like as long as the players that have it on do the business.

I love the orange away shirt, I had the orange shirt back in 1989/90 when we were sponsored by Fisons!

Orange kit looks fine, its a historical reference to.our Dutch players, we've had Orange away kits in the past. I think it will grow on people, lota of moaning I wonder if thats younger folk not following that context of it.

Didn't realise that Johnny Vegas was that hard up that he needed to advertise anyway.

Love the Adidas kits but I must admit I do not like the idea of advertising an online casino on the front of our shirts and then advertising the fact that 'The kits will all bear the new EFL names and numbers, in partnership with mental health charity Mind, which will also be available on replica strips'. It is well published that gambling addiction is becoming more and more common where even ex footballers have wrote books about becoming addicted etc. Whilst I appreciate Gambling sites are linked to sport in general i disagree that it should be advertised on a football jersey which then also advertises a charity such as Mind. I'd much rather see stuff like unicef or some uk children's charity on kits.

Sorry but it looks better than the owners name spread across it

Both kits are great! Now finalise the manager and let's 'kick a**e'!

Don't like the red on it, it's too much and doesn't contrast well, prefer blue and white. I'll stick with last seasons shirt that I just got in the sale for £25 and maybe pick one of these up cheap at the end of next season because I wouldn't pay £44 quid for this one.

What absolute shix. Won't be buying either of those. Let's hope football isn't as equally hilarious!

Betting sponsor - bad. Not what we want to see associated with our club. Otherwise a fair effort at a strip, not one of the greats sadly.

Any chance they might sell it without the horrible sponsor patch? Or that it could be removed? Still pretty ugly with the red stripes, but no way am I wearing Magical Vegas in my chest - will just revert to classic kits instead.

Not a witty name.... its not about the moral high ground, its about the awful cheap and tacky looking sponsors name... YUK i hate it so so cheap!

Stowtractorboy.... a considerable amount of money? its up to 2million in the championship over 2/3 seasons. In football terms that is not so much! A decent cup run or 2 will bring in more!

I approve.

Always liked a home shirt with white sleeves. Orange has become a classic away colour for us. Both are nice kits.

Sponsor is cack but nothing we can do about that.

Gambling ethics aside, the design/colors of the sponsor logo fights too hard with both the designs, and turns a couple of otherwise decent kits into a bit of a dog's dinner. Would have been better for all parties if the sponsor had agreed to a white "Magical" and a red "Vegas" for the purpose of the kits.

I've always preferred the Yellow around the logo but anyhow the colours now on the logo have all been incorporated.

Some of you will not like this, but unusually i feel like a rant! It's about time people took responsibility for their own lives, and stop blaming outside influences for their downfall. Losing betting slips do not fill themselves in, bottles/cans of alcohol do not open themselves and tip themselves down peoples throats. We all have choices in life. I used to be in the wine trade for several years and can categorically say i never got drunk once, or anything near it (and i'm not a saint!). Oh, and i nearly forgot, i used to work for a bookmaker too! I do feel sorry for those that are addicted to such things, but they are the architechts of their own downfall unfortunately. As a number of posters above have mentioned, my main gripe with the sponsors logo is, it's ugly, not magical!

I really like the style of the home shirt but there's no way that I would buy or wear it with that hideous logo on

A lot of people are saying it is about the type of business.
Personally I think the three stars are tacky.

Not to bad, like the away one better i think, not bothered about the sponsor logo just a part of the modern game, provides revenue.

Maybe i'm mistaken but 'I've just read three pages of people complaining that they wouldn't buy the kit because of the tacky looking logo, which i sort of agree with. But the end of the article states this...

The shirts will be priced at £45 for adults and £35 youth sizes, which won't include the Magical Vegas logo due to EFL rules on gambling sponsors.

The kits will be on display on the Town stand at the Suffolk Show on Wednesday and Thursday.

Either its been added later, or i've misunderstood, or no one reads the whole article.

Think it's time we knocked the white sleeves on the head - it takes away from the blue too much...maybe a blue shirt with white & orange trim instead of red would be a bit more original for the home?..same for the badge - a return to the old style badge in orange rather than yellow.

I think it is just the youth shirts which can't have gambling or other age-related logos on them
