Hurst: Tilt Didn't Play for Blackpool? That's Interesting Saturday, 28th Jul 2018 18:26
Blues boss Paul Hurst was interested to learn that Blackpool defender and Town target Curtis Tilt wasn’t involved in the Tangerines’ 1-1 draw at Crewe today, while his manager Gary Bowyer wouldn’t comment on the 26-year-old’s future.
Hurst, who confirmed he has multiple bids in at present, was told that central defender Tilt, the subject of two rebuffed Blues offers - the latest £550,000 - but with Town continuing to maintain their interest with talks believed to have taken place during the week.
“Didn’t he? That’s interesting,” he said. “I wasn’t aware of that. I’m smiling, hopefully that’s good news.”
Asked about Tilt, Bowyer said after the Seasiders’ game: “That’s a question you’ll have to ask someone else at the football club. It’s not down to me on that.
“The boy has been fantastic all pre-season and he’s had a wonderful year with us.
“I just felt today he was a little bit tired and a little bit frustrated, but we’ll see what next week brings.”
Walsall-born Tilt, who is also understood to have been interesting QPR, Portsmouth, Reading and Rangers, played in non-league for Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town, AFC Telford Town, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers (loan) before joining the Tangerines last summer. He made 45 starts for the League One side in 2017/18, scoring once.

I can't see Derby buying Waggy after getting Marriott from Peterborough - Derby need to sell before they buy again. ME just say jog on if they come asking!!
Now this guy Tilt does look the real deal from the youtube clips. Of course we dont see the lowlights but he is big, strong powerful, a leftie, loves to carry the ball forward and can go past players with a trick or two even. Has very good feet. If we get him he could quickly become a favourite at fortress PR.
This guy really seems to have skills and the explosive first couple of strides will leave even the fastest forwards wondering where he came from. Just play what they are asking for as he really fits the way Hurst seemingly likes to play. The only thing I'm questioning is If he is a bit overconfident with the ball when he is the lowest player on the formaattiin.
"Walsall-born Tilt, who is also understood to have been interesting QPR, Portsmouth, Reading and Rangers..."
Does anyone else think perhaps that either QPR, Reading or Rangers could also have put in a bid too? Because if this is news to Hurst then aren't we coming to the wrong conclusion that he could be playing against Blackburn next weekend??
Mind you if it were me, then I would snap Pool's hand off at a £1Mill #bargain
I Don't like jumping to conclusions or notin' but...?!?
Why does Frank Lampard continue to be all over this site Marriot was down the road a few and it seems that Wagthorn will not move to Derby What is our interest in him apart from him being fleetingly in the frame for new manager
