Hurst: No New Developments on Loans In Or Out Monday, 13th Aug 2018 11:57 Blues boss Paul Hurst says there have been no new developments on loans either in or out of the club over the weekend. Hurst has said that he is keen to send some of his younger players out for spells - Aaron Drinan is already at Sutton, Pat Webber at Braintee and Chris Smith at Aldershot - having spoken to Tristan Nydam about the possibility of going on loan, while Barry Cotter is another likely to be allowed to make a temporary move. Speaking at the weekend Hurst said he had not decided whether Andre Dozzell might be among those made available. “No, too early days. I’ve not had any calls on that, personally at least. But I’m sure there will be as we progress,” he said. The Town manager says it’s important that players go out at a level which will be useful for their development. “And ultimately who is interested,” he said. “I said to the players, if a National League South team comes in for Tristan, no disrespect, but that’s not going to be something that we’ll look at. “Each one will be looked at individually and we’ll try and make the right decision. This isn’t about trying to bring money back into the football club to then spend elsewhere or something, this is about looking at their development and seeing if we can get them playing at a good level that will benefit the player and ultimately us as a football club.” He says that there is similarly nothing new on incoming loanees with two further additions currently in his sights - a centre-half and a striker - although ideally he would like three but for the limit of five loan players in a matchday squad. In addition to Trevoh Chalobah and Tayo Edun, who are with the Blues from Chelsea and Fulham respectively, Janoi Donacien is currently on loan while he awaits confirmation of his permanent leave to remain in the UK. Once the paperwork is rubber-stamped - which could happen at any time - his move from Accrington will become a £750,000 permanent switch. “No, not over the weekend, that’s been left aside and we’ve been concentrating on this cup game,” Hurst added. “But there’ll still be work going on and conversations to be had throughout the coming days.” He says he’ll be looking both at loans from the Premier League and also those from the EFL who could ultimately become permanent signings. “Possibly, I’m open-minded,” he said. “I don’t want to put a set stipulation and narrow the market to say we’re only going to look at Premier League loans, we’ll just do whatever we feel is best and look at all options.”
