The FA could take action against the Blues and Norwich following the bust-up just before half-time in yesterday's derby which saw Town manager Paul Lambert and Canaries head of performance Chris Domogalla red-carded.

They will assess referee Peter Bankes’s report from the game and could charge the clubs with a 'mass confrontation' breach of FA Rule E20, that they failed to ensure their players and/or staff conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

The incident followed a Jon Nolan challenge on Max Aarons, with a number of Norwich players running over to remonstrate, leading to the melee involving most of the players on the pitch.

Off the field there was subsequently a clash between Lambert and Canaries’ assistant head coach Edmund Riemer - rather than Domogalla who was erroneously sent to the stands in a case of mistaken identity - who the Blues boss said had strayed into the Town technical area.

His theatrics were surely an embarrasment to his club and fans but all attention has been diverted by other incidents.
