1,200 New Season Ticket Holders
Monday, 29th Apr 2019 16:39

Town have revealed that more than 1,200 new season ticket holders have signed up for the Blues’ 2019/20 League One campaign with the overall total now at 10,427, already up on this year's figure of 10,200.

The Blues announced their season ticket prices a fortnight ago with most seats down by an initial 12.5 per cent with further discounts if the total hits the 12,000, 13,000 and 14,000 marks before the early bird deadline of May 6th.

“Paul’s [Lambert] asked me to keep him up to date on how the season ticket sales are going,” Town’s general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill told the club site.""

“It’s great to see so many new season ticket holders getting behind the club.

"We targeted attracting around 2,000 or so new purchasers to have a chance of reaching that initial 12,000 figure and we are halfway there with still a week to go.

""“It’s a new challenge for everyone next season and it will be a big test but the aim is clear, to return to the Championship as quickly as possible.”

Check your direct debit confirmation folks, as the club renewed me at the wrong price (early bird, rather than renewal) and I'm not alone!

Sorry but unless is my maths off .!! We now have 10427 with 1200 new season ticket holders..yet we had 10200 already..so 10200 +1200 should be 11400 ,

So we have lost 800 (roughly) season ticket holders also.??

It means 800 haven't renewed yet or have chosen not to renew

Braver fools than me :)
I have seen absolutely nothing in the past few months that gives me any sign of optimism...Paul L is a great talker and fantastic with the public relations but his team is un-organised, lacking focus and destined for another year of gloom.

If I lived in Ipswich, I would want a season ticket for League 1. instead of the drab hoof-ball of the McCarthy years and the mess of this season, I'm sure that we're going to see goals, wins and a far more positive season than we've had for many years.

And it's not just a chance of play-offs or promotion, we could well be champions.

Who would want to miss any of that?

Great positivity. I don't buy a season, living in Sweden, but I certainly would if I was based in the UK. What option do we have other than to buy into the new revolution? After all, we,re not going to abandon the club, are we?

AND the same price in the Championship in 2020/21 when we could be playing the Carrot boys again?

Now that is optimism for you.

This makes bad reading if anyone's thinking town are going on a spending spree in the summer https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48093499. Even Sunderland have had to reign in their spending

Fantastically positive: now all we need is the Leeds boys to have a "on the beach" day on Sunday, and we can sign out of the Championship with a morale-boosting result.

Would be interesting to know how many have not renewed. 12K still seems a way off.

Decent sign. Need new players too would be good(and clear out)!! I'm still in shock after watching our camera shy chaps doing a great impression of a useless pub team v Sheff Utd. Don't care where they are in league, these teams are beatable but we have completely lost the plot

Having grown up in the 70's I was a child of Sir Bobby, always wanted a season ticket but was unsure until heart attack in 2011.Decided to go for it and then what a rollercoaster.. Skuse first goal, last minute winners at Charlton and Watford, Sears first minute at Fulham ,Murphy hatrick at Rotherham, now down..but looking forward to next season, born in Gods own County COYB!

North London Blue,I admire your optimism, but for us to
be champions the squad needs one hell of an overhaul.
The present squad is dreadful and the side who played at Sheffield
would be lucky to finish mid-table.We need at least 3 quality defenders
and we all know at least 2 decent strikers are a must.

Even the most direhard detractors can't scoff at going beyond the current season's total of season ticket sales. It reinforces that many posters on here are simply not reflecting the hopes of the majority who support their team regardless of their own criticisms of past managers and the current owner. We are not deluded, just proper fans.

Good news that we have 1200 new season ticket holders - its a same that just under 1000 have not renewed - but no real surprise. It would be great to have around 12000 before the start of the season. Lets hope we have a few new signings in the summer as we definitely need new blood - central defenders & strikers.

Keep going people! Lets hit that 12k mark and then hopefully 13 and 14. Even though its been a terrible season off the pitch our support in the stands has been phenomenal! Think a lot of credit has to go to Blue Action and the SBR stand for creating this atmosphere in such a desperate season. COYB!
