Lambert and Nolan in Team of the Week
Monday, 21st Sep 2020 11:37

Town boss Paul Lambert and goalscorer Jon Nolan have been named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Week following the 2-0 win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The Blues top the division on goal difference following the victory at the Memorial Stadium in which Nolan added the second goal in the 89th minute to seal the three points, Rovers skipper Max Ehmer having given Town the lead with an own goal on 80.

Midfielder Teddy Bishop was in last week’s select XI for his goal and display in the 2-0 home victory over Wigan Athletic.

Well deserved by both - never been much of a fan of Nolan, don't feel he has lived up to expectations until these first 2 games - so fair play to the man.
Lambert deserves a lot of credit for well-timed substitutions. Happy days, COYB

Quite something for Nolan to get that in this midfield. Only one without an award is Dozzel who has been consistently good. Bodes well.

And for all the flack, much of it deserved, PL deserved that for the approach and subs. Great start, albeit against poor opposition. COYB

I don't know if Lambert is “The Man”.... but he's more likely the man than Hurst and knows a lot more than the morons who slag him off on here.

Credit where its due. Lambert made the subs at the right time and took the game to Rovers.

Thoroughly deserved by Nolan.

Cautionary tale....we have beaten two very poor sides. Could easily have been behind against Wigan and were disappointing for 60+ mins against Bristol Rovers. However, the team kept working hard, created chances and beat the opposition in front of them. A potentially winnable game on Saturday. Hopefully cohesion and confidence will spread throughout the squad....particularly with players returning from injury

Wonder how many weeks in a row we can get someone in the team. That's 2/2!

I'd rather see the plaudits and accolades roll in than not, however minor they may be, in the the scheme of things for this season. So well done to both I say.

If lambert gets us up then he will get all the credit he deserves. You'd have to be some kind of ‘bowler' to put your own selfish loathing of whom ever before the good of the club. Not my style that's for sure.

Why did it take 3 months of dreadful results for Lambert to discover a settled side gets results.

Sorry for being negative but we haven't faced a team worth noting as yet

Always thought Nolan looked quality, composed on the ball, and our biggest goal threat from midfield, just needs to be more aggressive at times.
