Bishop and Edwards in Team of the Week
Monday, 12th Oct 2020 15:45

Town duo Teddy Bishop and Gwion Edwards have been named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Week for their performances and goals in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Blackpool.

Edwards scored twice and assisted another and Bishop netted once as the top-of-the-table Blues comfortably beat the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road.

It’s the second time Bishop, who has scored three times this season, has made the divisional select XI during 2020/21, he was previously named for his display and goal in the 2-0 home win against Wigan, while Edwards, now the Blues’ top scorer with four goals, is appearing for the first time.

Also in this week’s team is former Town loanee Jordan Graham, who is now with Gillingham.

Edwards must be delighted as the 1st ever non footballer to be picked in a team of the week..... well I say that maybe Cattermole was 1st but he is at a rugby player.

Still, well done Gwion.... quite an honour.

Well done lads fully deserved, some brilliantly taken goals. Teddy was superb.

Am guessing Chambers error from the cross that led to their goal cost him because otherwise i felt he deserved to be in there, helluva strike.

BlueandTruesince82 must be numpty of the week for that comment. People just hate to be proved wrong don't they.

I think anyone saying Edwards, “isn't a footballer” in the wake of a double and an assist is probably a bigger numpty (Blubfish - and that's being very kind). He's not had the best few seasons but he's been played at 5 or 6 positions in that time. Looks decent this season.

Both had very good games, especially happy for Bish. Nice to see our team scoring from all over the pitch. COYB!

I think the first comment is a tongue-in-cheek reference to one of the forum's most... recognised posters

I think anyone who read bluefish's forum post would sense the tongue in cheek nature of my post. Ho hum.

I thought Chambers was nailed on for team of the week. Fantastic goal and assist

Gwion has been horribly inconsistent for us....until this season. Maybe helps to have 2 strong wide players on the subs bench for first time in years in Lankester and Bennetts! Between our injury record and COVID, suspect we will need them all to sustain a promotion push this season.
