Celina Confirmed in Kosovo Squad
Friday, 5th Nov 2021 14:36

Town forward Bersant Celina has been named in the Kosovo squad for their games against Jordan and Greece during the international break meaning he will be unavailable for the Blues’ Papa John’s Trophy tie against Colchester on Tuesday and next League One match against Oxford United a week tomorrow.

The Kosovans play the Jordanians in a friendly at home on Wednesday 10th November and World Cup qualifier in Greece on Sunday 14th November.

Celina, 25, who is on loan with the Blues from Dijon for the season, has previously won 30 Kosovo caps, scoring two international goals.

The former Manchester City youngster looks set to be the only senior Town player away with an international squad during the break with Macauley Bonne not expected to join up with Zinmbabwe despite being named in the party for their World Cup qualifiers yesterday.

We have a great strength in depth squad, nothing worries me except Morsy. We need a youngster to step up to the Morsy position.

Really frustrating to have to play big games without some of our best players. Conor Chaplin has to come in and grab his opportunity in the same way as he did before.

As great as Celina is for us not sure he is ahead of Chaplin for number 10 role. I would say at this point they are equal so if Celina away, Chaplin plays no problem. As others have said Morsy would be big miss.

Hope Celina gets some game time for Kosovo and comes back without any injuries or ill effects.

With any luck Chaplin will be fit in time as he is a more than capable replacement.

Ringwoodblue. Chaplin isn't injured. Was on the bench Tuesday.

Still feel his best position is left wing but great cover in the 10 role as he showed on Tuesday

Good for him as he deserves it, he's playing really well and with a lot of confidence. Not so good for us with Oxford being an important game.

Celina on Tuesday looked fully for the first time this season. I was disappointed when Chaplin was not in the side Tuesday but i think Celina is just ahead of him now he's looking much sharper . Cook is operating a mini rotation system and will rest players who are not looking sharp in training or carrying minor knocks. Any team with aspirations of promotion will be making whole sale changes this afternoon.
