McKenna: Burns Scan News Positive
Saturday, 6th Apr 2024 16:31

Town boss Kieran McKenna says there was positive news from Wes Burns’s latest hamstring scan.

Wales international Burns underwent a second scan on Thursday on the hamstring he injured against Sheffield Wednesday.

“The scan was a positive, so no guarantees yet but we’re certainly more optimistic that we’ll see him before the end of the season,” McKenna said.

Good news!...on a bad day. We'll need him whether starting or off the bench just for the attacking threat and his pace.

Whats the news on Hirst? Also , last I heard, expected back before the end of the season.

Get him back and we have a chance of still avoiding the playoff hell (Norwich)

We really miss him, and Hutchinson coming off the bench.

Desperately needed him today. He might well have made the difference.

Today's game would have really suited him; if we are ulttimately consigned to playing them again in the playoff semis, having Burns fit will make a real difference.

Good news, we need him back sooner rather than later. Hopefully he makes an appearance in the next couple of games.

Patience ! KM will be well aware of our needs ,but won’t start rushing players bask who are not yet fit !
WB would be invaluable ,but long term injury cannot be risked for short tem gsin !

I thought we would miss him but perhaps not quite as much.

Omari and Moore have done amazing considering everything, but no question yesterday suited a more direct aggressive driving effort, which Wes and Hirst give us....you immediately saw the difference Ali made. Truth is you need the squad for all eventualities, so we need both back and they could be available for those last 3 games then who knows ?!

Hopefully we’ll have him and Hirst back for those play off games, because I’m not expecting us to make automatics now, because our form has been stuttering for a few games, ( some we’ve won, others we haven’t ), but overall we look jaded now.

If Wes's celebration against the last minute goals Vs Southampton is anything to go by, he's already ready for a return.

Arnie, we'd won 9 out of 10 games before Saturday so our form hasn't been stuttering that much. We'll need a goid result on Tues though as Saturday wasn't good enough.
