McKenna Joins in Park Tidy-Up
Tuesday, 7th May 2024 13:17

Town boss Kieran McKenna played his part in helping tidy Christchurch Park this morning following yesterday’s promotion celebration.

Tens of thousands of Blues supporters lined the route taken by two open-top buses as they made their way to the park where McKenna, CEO Mark Ashton and members of the team were interviewed by Simon Milton.

Inevitably, there was plenty of rubbish left by the crowds with the clean-up under way this morning.

Locally-based rubbish removal company Hero Site Solutions Ltd revealed on Facebook that McKenna had joined them to lend a helping hand.

“Are you Lasso in disguise? Are you Lasso in disguise?”

Our very own Ted Lasso, minus the terrible facial hair.

Bert I was thinking, I know he hasn't done much for the wider UK, but I'd knight this man for services to Suffolk and putting NCFC in their place.

What a gesture from a truly great manager who is hopefully only at the beginning of his many achievements. On another tack, how are people today so out of tune with nature that they don't seem to even understand the negative aspects of just dropping their litter wherever they happen to be? Maybe there weren't enough bins - but if there weren't, take it home with you!

10 years ago if we’d hoped for a manager and a club as we have now, it wouldn’t be realistic would it. This sort of suggestion would have been laughed at.
So proud of every part of this club again and Kmc is setting standards all the way.

I look at what I posted in Dec 2021
"An excellent no nonsense coach highly thought of who wants now to make his mark/way into management who will undoubtedly be supported by our owners in January?"
I had no crystal ball, idea that this man would ooze so much class and we would get promotion so soon
We are truly honored to have him

A credit to our wonderful Club and a shining example to all those people who should know better and either take their litter home or find a bin.
What a guy. We are so lucky to have him with us!

……… neither the club or he sought publicity for this so his gesture is doubly sincere.

So if we ever need defensive cover we can turn to the manager as a sweeper!
Seriously, how many managers would display such humility to get involved in a clean up? Top class.

I think he's taking the mick out of the nodge binner taunt. I seem to recall him emptying one on Connor Chaplin's head last year. Maybe start singing The binner takes it all when we win the treble? But yes, just stop dropping litter! It's really not difficult!

Has he got an identical twin brother? I can't believe how one man can do so much and still be so calm and in control. He always finds time to do the right thing.
