Humphreys Nets Winner For Wycombe
Sunday, 22nd Sep 2024 10:30

On-loan Cameron Humphreys netted his second goal for Wycombe Wanderers in the 85th minute to claim a 2-1 League One victory over Cambridge United yesterday.

Humphreys, 20, was making his third start for the Buckinghamshire club, in addition to two sub appearances, and grabbed his second goal in two home league games having scored on his debut in a 2-0 victory over Rotherham after coming off the bench.

The midfielder has made a big impression at Adams Park with fans dubbing him the ‘Suffolk Messi’.

So pleased for Cam, looks to be a brilliant well thought out loan. Exactly what he needs to develop physically, technically he's got the lot.

Sometimes players are very talented but lack the confidence to express themselves Cameron is a very quiet lad but he's blossoming at Wycombe and still has a future at Ipswich.

This is great, isn't it? He's definitely grabbed this opportunity with both hands.

Think he needed to move away to get game time and be better valued. Remember seeing him play left wing back at Wimbledon in the FA Cup last year and as we built from the back nobody wanted to give him the ball. It was really quite sad, he cut a lonely figure.

Really pleased for him, really rate the lad. This will do his confidence the world of good.
Hopefully we get to see the Suffolk Messi back at portman playing for us!

Great to see him playing with a smile on his face, with all the money in football sometimes players need to remember the love for the game.
