Oh - and it might also mean we get a bye through the first round of the League Cup so we don't get turned over at home by Northampton or something... ;o)

Reread my post Len Brennan then read posts prior to mine! I am referring to the post(s) where people are now giving up until next season, that’s the kind of white flag I refer to. Accepting the situation we find ourselves in (and I do) and throwing the towel in are totally different. I do think we could potentially enjoy a promotion season next season, but building for next season starts now and momentum is key, go into every game with an all out attempt at victory. Potentially if we give up throw the towel in, the players give up as well it could harm a fragile team, low in confidence let’s get behind the team and enjoy the remaining games!

On leaving the ground after that magnificent afternoon against Huddersfield i said to my mates im really going to miss the championship they looked at me in disbelief. Don't care what anybody says this season has been a embarrassment one win at home is hardly ground breaking stuff. Can't criticise the commitment of the players dispite being walked over nearly every week and that is testament to our manager Keiran McKenna. It's very difficult to keep players happy when you are getting battered every week. Not all Keirans decisions have been great but you can say that about any manager he could have made substitutions much earlier but that can cause resentment in the squad. Can't wait for next season and football on a level playing field whether we get promoted or not stuff the Sky Premier league.

It's an odd way in my opinion to be totally doom and gloom before relegation has happened which if we do not beat Wolves it will be I agree but we are on the same points as Leicester so at the very least we need to get a distance between them, how annoyed would we all be if Man City go down and Leicester stay up by a point, that alone is worth playing for because if we go down with Man City then realistically they would be a shoe in for automatic promotion so we be fighting for 1 automatic slot with Southampton, maybe Sunderland, Boro, Birmingham and Wrexham will heavily invest etc don't get an automatic and its the play off lottery. I'd much rather have another season in Prem if City are relegated. So just staying above Leicester even on a maybe is crucial and perhaps all the bad ref decisions, fine margins, last minute losses etc will all been worth it and the footballing gods keep us up. It is looking increasingly likely Man City will go down so on that alone we have to get points, Wolves will lose games and it probaly is a bridge too far to catch them but we must throw everything at it, tonights selection will give us all the intention being shown or not. I said all season they planned for Championship by the business they done and players bought in and for me it was good business. The Prem needs to look at all this though and a restructure. A super league doesn't look such a bad idea now, its the same in all league's across Europe. Fingers crossed Mck makes some big calls and goes for it as he said yesterday but I have a feeling not much changes and he will blame it on injuries. If Phillips can't play then Enciso is hopefully beside Cajuste but let's see. At least let's see what they do in next 2 games. Got to go for it COYB

The Premier League is nowhere near a level playing field and the likes of Everton and Forest cheated to stay up and Man City cheated to win league's and set a precedent for multi million pound buys, season ticket holders for the 3 going up in yo yo get one season of winning games every week to getting beat every week just like a privilege too have superstars come to play you. I think next season we will be glad of all the signings we made and let's see who we can get in, if relegated. I'd definately fancy our chances but won't be easy Wrexham and Birmingham have deep pockets.

Well I said at the beginning of the season it was 'bitter sweet' getting to the Premiership as the chasm has grown massively since we were last in the top flight since 2002 and so it has proven. It IS a monster money league. The next task/step of our owners/CEO and manager (who ever that is) will be to play more of a 'Premier style' possession/fast passing based football in the Championship and hopefully keeping the majority of players together from this season, obviously one or two will not be here and a few let go. Otherwise it will seem to be a case 1 step forwards and 1 back. There are no guarantees we will be back in the Premiership in 2026/27 and history tells us that...we mustn't get bogged down by slower physical football which is typical of the Championship.

Some people are deluded. We haven't been badly managed, sure KM is still learning, but all managers make mistakes, he'll be better off for it, and so will we. We haven't made bad signings, we acquired what was available to us. Coming straight up from 2 divisions, it was always going to be a long shot. Any promoted team coming up these days has to fight tooth and nail every week and still may only stay up by the skin of their teeth like Forest the other year, and they have built on that. Maybe we'll still so it, you never know. But the club is not in turmoil, let's not be deluded about that.

It was always going to be a challenge to get fourth bottom this season. We got to the PL a season or two before we were preparing for. The PL is also an insane clique of big clubs who just get bigger, making the gulf in money the big issue for promoted clubs. It really shouldn't be like that but the PL bully the EFL into submission with the threat of withdrawing the miserly funds they send down. Look at Burnley, Sheff U and Luton last season. Now it's us, Leicester and S'ton. The chances of staying up get less every year. All we can hope for is an instant return at the end of next season and that we are the fourth from bottom side. We may have to let a few of the stars from the L1 days go and get in some more top end Championship players next season. We may also lose some of our Prem quality players (apart from Delap) to newly promoted teams or other Prem teams. We'll all be at PR nxext season cheering on the team.

Perhaps Lee James should ask Kieran if he needs an assistant manager as he seems to love picking his Team! To be honest it probably doesn't matter what combination of players you put out, 3 wins in 29 (Wolves 8 in 30) tells it's own story. Sadly although we competed in many games we kept making the same mistakes. Missed oportunities and too many individual errors. Although it's been nice to see top Teams coming down to Portman Road it's almost an elitist league now with the money expected to buy and pay out for top quality players. The journey was much more enjoyable and hopefully next season we will be better prepared and come back stronger.

Yeah, but we beat Bournemouth, then Wolves and it's only 6. We're then on a roll and Wolves are floundering under the pressure. I dreamt it so it must be true.
