TWTD understands Town have received no bids for left-back Leif Davis this summer and will not be selling him during this transfer window.

Over the last few days, various reports have claimed the 25-year-old has been the subject of rebuffed offers from Premier League clubs, while Nottingham Forest were said to be lining up a bid, according to stories earlier today.

However, Town sources have told TWTD that the club has received no offers for the former Leeds man and will not sell Davis during this transfer window.

The one-time Morecambe trainee is contracted to the summer of 2028 and is a key member of Kieran McKenna’s team, while the player is happy at the club and not looking to move on. The links to Premier League clubs would appear to be purely agent led.

Newcastle-born Davis, who joined the Blues from Leeds in the summer of 2022 for £1.1 million, is currently the club’s only fit left-back with Conor Townsend almost certainly out for the season having suffered an ACL injury at Auxerre in last week’s final friendly.

Davis played the full 90 minutes in last night’s 1-1 draw at Birmingham having recovered from a hip problem.

We have business to do in the window though, and don't be surprised if Hackney still comes, theres no PL interest as yet, time will tell. With Omari and Nathan possibly set to leave, and no debt, theres plenty to look forward to

tetchris added 13:49 - Aug 9 There isn’t anywhere officially that says he doesn’t want to leave either. “Understanding” that town don’t want to sell and he is happy as town isn’t the same as the player coming out publicly and saying it himself, at this point it’s just conjecture. How do we know what conversations have taken place between Davis and his agent? Their conversations are private. Davis doesn’t need to convey to the fans whether he is happy at the club or not. He might be happy and not pushing for a move but if a PL club comes along and offers to treble your wages are you going to turn it down?

You have no evidence that Broadhead and Hutchinson will not be fully committed if they stay. It is just trolling players who have done well for us and, as I'm sure you have done, keeping an eye on their own career and family plans too.

JewellintheTown added 16:04 - Aug 9 As far as I'm aware, agents main source of commission is either when a transfer gets happens or a contract negotiation, so it's in their interest to drum up business for one of those to happen to earn money. Some I believe get paid on a retainer.

Until then we have other and more important fish to fry. As for last night, well I've seen it all before many times since my live match debut in 1963, teams ( not just us ) have a dodgy start and then suddenly just fly, and vice versa. We have just completed a whopping 2% of our entire league fixture list, got a point at a place that was a cauldron ( deservedly or not ), by the time the transfer window slams shut in 23 days time, we will have competed for 12 of the available 138 points. As a certain Corporal Jones was known for saying " don't panic "! As for transfers, Well, I think we all would agree in here that we are a few short in numbers for various reasons. KM has said the same publicly, and you can absolutely sure that MA is more than well aware of it. So maybe we all just need to take a deep intake of breath, a step back and a chill pill. Just let the powers that be do what they can do over the next 3 weeks or so, and see where that leads us!

It is a bit late letting him go now as it would be hard to replace him. Perhaps KMcK can work his magic on him and persuade him to stay on the understanding he can go if we are not promoted. Any word on other moves for Hackney I see he played for Boro today.
