Egeli: I Know There's a Town Bid, Up to the Clubs to Agree
Monday, 25th Aug 2025 21:20

FC Nordsjælland forward Sindre Walle Egeli says he’s aware of Town’s bid for him and it’s up the clubs whether they can agree a deal

Just over a week ago, the Blues were reported to be close to a €20 million (£17.2 million) move for the 19-year-old Norwegian international.

Discussions were believed to be continuing but with little new emerging. However, Egeli spoke to the media following this evening’s 1-0 victory over Viborg in which he scored the only goal in the fourth minute.

Asked whether the match was his last in a Nordsjælland jersey, he told Danish website Bold: “We’ll see. Maybe it was. It’s not up to me.”

Quizzed on whether he was aware of Town’s interest, he added: “Yes, I know there’s a bid, then it's up to the clubs and see if they can agree.

“It is certainly exciting that the club has made a bid. But I don't think about it much. I am thinking of FC Nordsjælland and my performance here.”

Egeli says he is ready for his next step and can see himself playing in England: “Yeah, it’s always been my dream.”

The Larvik-born right-sided forward joined Nordsjælland’s academy from Sandefjord in his home country in 2022 and since then has made 43 appearances, scoring 11 goals and picking up 10 assists.

Having won Norway caps at U15, U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels, he won his first and so far only full cap in 2024.

Given his age, Egeli wouldn’t count towards Town’s 25-man Championship squad.

Nordsjælland, meanwhile, appear to be closing in on signing a replacement with Tromsø’s Runar Norheim, 20, understood to be on his way to Denmark to sign for the Farum-based club.

I sincerely hope that we don’t let this guy slip through our fingers, and it turns out to be yet another false dawn.

Getting a deal over the line for this young prospect will give a much needed shot in the arm to most of the ITFC fanbase. I say most as I think a few are far too entrenched in negativity to be happy about anything ITFC related.
Does feel like a big moment in the window and if we don’t get him it will feel like a blow to the fans. Cmon Mr Ashton et al get him here

I know nothing about him, We've got lots of right sided attackers/midfielders but if he is better, and we have the money then why not do it? but why sign Mcateer?

KM indicated a busy week ‘transfer’ wise; let’s hope all he has in mind can be achieved !Little doubt ITFC will be pulling every string and doing all possible !
Best of luck !

Why are we not getting these deals done quickly before other clubs take an interest in the player.

Seems a bit strange that if anything is imminent that he’s played today especially with the amount of fee involved. Fingers crossed.

What I love is he still played tonight. Loyalty and dedication alongside talent.

Seems to me to be a bit of a no brainer. Doesn't count towards the squad numbers, highly promising, bang on attitude. Clearly wants to come. Everyone knows we're not short of money, so just might have to accept paying a little more for players than maybe ideal, ( not completely over the top, of course ) or not get them at all. I can possibly see someone being shipped out to help pave the way.

His name's out there now, remember Akpom and Birmingham? Don't want another saga like that. Let's hope the add ons, clauses and god knows what else they add into transfer dealings these days get sorted pronto!

He will not come too us not in a million years
1-ipswich are too slow recruiting
2- we only buy unwanted layers(mcateer)

This entire transfer Window smacks of MA wanting to be very cautious with money. Bit hard to understand given strong player sales and also some pressure now to get up to speed faster. So not very comforting to watch this saga drag on. Even the upcoming Int’l break may not be that good for KM to fix the team issues as quite a few going to be absent .. possibly including this guy.
