Egeli: I Know There's a Town Bid, Up to the Clubs to Agree Monday, 25th Aug 2025 21:20 FC Nordsjælland forward Sindre Walle Egeli says he’s aware of Town’s bid for him and it’s up the clubs whether they can agree a deal
Just over a week ago, the Blues were reported to be close to a €20 million (£17.2 million) move for the 19-year-old Norwegian international.
Discussions were believed to be continuing but with little new emerging. However, Egeli spoke to the media following this evening’s 1-0 victory over Viborg in which he scored the only goal in the fourth minute.
Asked whether the match was his last in a Nordsjælland jersey, he told Danish website Bold: “We’ll see. Maybe it was. It’s not up to me.”
Quizzed on whether he was aware of Town’s interest, he added: “Yes, I know there’s a bid, then it's up to the clubs and see if they can agree.
“It is certainly exciting that the club has made a bid. But I don't think about it much. I am thinking of FC Nordsjælland and my performance here.”
Egeli says he is ready for his next step and can see himself playing in England: “Yeah, it’s always been my dream.”
The Larvik-born right-sided forward joined Nordsjælland’s academy from Sandefjord in his home country in 2022 and since then has made 43 appearances, scoring 11 goals and picking up 10 assists.
Having won Norway caps at U15, U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels, he won his first and so far only full cap in 2024.
Given his age, Egeli wouldn’t count towards Town’s 25-man Championship squad.
Nordsjælland, meanwhile, appear to be closing in on signing a replacement with Tromsø’s Runar Norheim, 20, understood to be on his way to Denmark to sign for the Farum-based club.

Character wise miles better than that sulky striking ex-player. Knows there is a relatively large bid for him, still plays (and scores). Already shows a strong mentality compared to the weak sulk.

I wish I had the naive ignorance of some on here who have a belief or wish & think it's as simple as that to make it magically happen. MA will get the best deal for the club or will move on. If he's really wanted & needed here to help the plan, he'll get him, just like Hutchinson, Cajuste etc.

What we need now is some kind of coalition consisting of all the experts we are lucky enough to have on our forum. If we were to pool the huge wealth of knowledge and experience we would nail every potential target in minutes.

Showing a good attitude and respect towards his club rather than throwing his toys out of the pram by trying to force a move unlike some prima donnas I don't want to mention

Get this guy in. He looks great. He can play any attacking role and doesn’t cost a squad number. I just can’t understand why we signed Mcateer even after KM explained it.

Transfer window closes in five days. Get this sorted now before we have to wait until January. FC (I'm not going to try and spell that) have never seen this much money - their biggest buy was 3 million Euros and their biggest sale 3.5 million. Surprised they haven't rolled out the red carpet for MA...

I hope this guy is great and can transition to Championship / Premier League football, but!!! lets leave it to Ashton + McKenna to decide what he is worth. Every player has a great video promo video these days which make them look great, but there is no guarantee he will transition successfully across. The championship is a tough legal, and the Premier League even tougher. If they believe he can make that transition, then we should go all out for him, it is as simple as that.

Once again seems like a hell of a lot of money for a young player. Hope it's not another Philogene or Clarke.

Would be great if he signed for us but one player isn’t going to solve all our problems right now. Lots of hard work still needed getting us playing together as a team again and to restore that winning mentality we seem to have lost.

Really hope this goes through… Egeli will become a star and will be sold again for min. double figures. I was actually concerned if he wanted to play in the Championship but now he seem ready and up to the clubs to agree. FCN is one of Europes best talent factories wherefore many clubs are looking though no doubt the plan to sell would be next summer as he just turned 19. He seem mature of age and his physical package allow him to move on. Town will be a good spot because even though he is a professional he is not used to pressure and atmosphere as in the Championship… so good stepping stone. Btw. he is nothing like Haaland. Egeli is more technical and agile but not so goal proven as Haaland (but who is)… so I expect assists as much as goals.

Yes, he played and scored after 4 minutes ( what was to be the winning goal ), but he didn't celebrate/smile and in DK some believe that it is a signal to the club. That he doesn't care for the club. Would be a great buy.

Whether we sign Egeli or not, we need more quality players through the door. And we need creativity, speed and passion. I'm not one of those who is overly negative, there is quality in the squad and I'm convinced that things will turn around. But if we are to take steps towards the very top, we need to open our wallets, no doubt about it.

No new signings again yesterday, lots to do still. Over to Ashton who’s performance this summer has been poor to say the least (signing new players of quality for us

Just listened to an interview with FCN sport director claiming they turned down a £23m bit for Egeli recently. As told before FCN players have a high price because many youngsters has proven themselves abroad and sold for again for lots of money. If it agrees there will for sure be included a sell on clause.

I hope this goes through but I fear too much media coverage will mean a Premiership club comes in and gazumps us offering a bigger transfer fee and instant Premiership status.

Keep in mind we are still £45m + up in this window, a weeks to go and one of the best negotiators at the helm. Expecting this to get done in time for the weekend. Then it's CMF. No sign of HH going to a PL club just yet, but if he does, where do we go next? Kalvin Phillips Loan again, Josh Brownhill? One thing I am sure of is that the American investors, having had a taste last season, will not be urging financial caution, they want an immediate return. Im expecting an electric week

If a figure of £23 million being turned down is true, it might be very difficult to get this one over the line. However, I hope we do. This lad will surely be an investment for the future, and signing him would be a big positive after all the negativity recently.

If i ran around for 30 miutes with a ball a skilled video team could make a brilliant highlights package for real madrid.. I might have a heart attack though...

I suspect that some on here would see a house they like and offer more than anyone else just to get it. They would then skip the survey and the research and the fensa certs and the all the other bits and pieces. Move in with a week and hope it all works out. Some of us are more patient and like things done properly and doing things properly takes time. I'd love to this signing happen but not by paying too much and with MA ensuring that our club is nicely covered if and when he was to move on from here in the future. The players current club also want the best for their club so negotiations take time.

If ANYBODY bothered to read the article properly you would have picked up on the fact that they are trying to secure his replacement before agreeing to our offer. As soon as they have finalised the Tromso lad, we will be allowed to complete this deal. I wish people on here would stop exploding at every opportunity - have a bit of common sense and realise that negotiations take time, especially for the level of player we are going for now.

Spot on Suffolk Punch 70 not many on here have common sense im afraid all they do is slag off players and each other but what do you expect they are football fans.

Sounds a very good prospect but why have no Premier clubs been in for him unless they want to see how he performs in a Town shirt and then we make a bundle on him in a year or two's time!!!

They have a long winter break. Maybe he will start training with us in December ready for the transfer window in January.
