Hutchinson Omitted From Forest's Europa League Squad
Wednesday, 3rd Sep 2025 22:59

Ex-Town forward Omari Hutchinson has been omitted from Nottingham Forest’s squad for the league phase of the Europa League.

Forest are limited to a squad of 22 rather than 25 as they have only one player who was at the club between the ages of 15 and 21 and not the four required by UEFA rules in order to name a full complement.

Hutchinson, whose £37.5 million move last month was the Blues’ record sale and Forest’s record purchase, misses out alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined on loan from Arsenal on Monday, and fellow summer arrivals Angus Gunn, Jair Cunha and Cuiabano, as well as Jota Silva and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Clubs are permitted to make three changes to the squad between the league stage of the competition and the knockout phase.

Hutchinson, 21, has made two Premier League appearances as a late sub since joining Forest.

Don't suppose he's that bothered he still gets paid and he can go on holiday.

I still think it would have been in Hutchinson's best interests to complete another season at Portman Road. If we fail to get promoted, he could still, understandably, have gone - or looked at his options with Ipswich back in the Prem.
So far, he's played less than ten minutes football this season and no European squad place either.
I wish I'd been his agent.

I simply can’t wish him well!
Dark horse it clearly states keep news comments on topic, any excuse to bash the club, pathetic!

Can't really understand who Dark Horse actually supports. Clearly not Ipswich, as he slags the club off at every opportunity. There's definitely something bitter going on but keen to try and hide it.. don't think its Norwich, maybe Colchester or Peterborough. Maybe it's Markus Evans pen name...

Why is this a story on this page? Some fans still being obsessed with his career I expect but the writers of this site still making stories on him I find odd.

“I told you so” shame that he let a greedy agent get into his head. Hutchinson is a super talented player but we watched him last season and he played extremely well at times but was still on the development curve. Leaving for a team as accomplished as Forest looks good on paper and he’ll get some decent money, but he won’t play many minutes and his pedigree and development will wane. I hated the way he behaved but many of us who have experienced youngsters know that sometimes they have to learn the hard way if they won’t listen to good advice. Big shame

Leaving aside my views on Omari and the way he left the club, this just shows the importance of having a good academy whilst in the EFL so you have home grown players to put in your European squad if we ever get to those heights again.

JewelintheTown got it spot on for me. Nobody is loyal in football apart from the fans and some of us are pretty fickle at times I dont blame him for moving on at what he believes was the best place to further his career. It could of well been handled better thats obvious, but we are not privy to the conversations between him the management and the agent. We move on, if anyone does´nt want to play for us its their loss in my opinion.

Not so such a tall tree at the Forest. Maybe he will get splinters on his bum from sitting on the bench.

Darkhorse28.omg. j just never stop with the total bs. Mckenna didn't agree terms with brighton , or hed have been their manager, u moron. So our reserve team played Bromleys reserve side. And we drew the game due to a mistake by Walton. And we lost a penalty shoot out. That happens in football. It was a cup game. Hardly the 1st upset theres ever been in a cup game. Nor will it be the last. Or did u miss Grimsby v man utd last week?
Do agree with you however on the reaction of of fans to him moving on. No, the way he went about it wasnt good. But I'm sure much of that was down to advice he got from his agent. End of the day, hes made his choice, and tho i think another year in the championship with us would have been best for him, good luck to him. Hope all goes well for him. If it goes wrong for him tho, he only has himself, and his agent, to blame.

Can't say I'm surprised. If you look at his performances for us in the PL, they were a little disappointing. He didn't look like be a match winner every 3 to 4 matches. I was surprised we got what we did for him. Our gain and I think it will be Forests loss.

Like Saxonblue I'm normally interested in how ex players are doing, however in Hutchinson's case I have no interest whatsoever. Due to his immature petulant behaviour & basically refusing to play I don't wish him well not ill. I doubt he will be a first team certainty, more a bench warmer and won't actually be at NF for long.

He was only on for 10 minutes or so on his debut against Palace in that time he proceeded to miss 2 chances one which was a sitter...Santo's expression said it all! :)
