Just done a little dive into one of the two main stats sites I mostly use. Appears not to have had a lot of game time over the past year, so I'm not drawing any conclusions from them, though having done the maths, he picked up a yellow card every three games ( quelle surprise :) ) pretty much exactly. No reds though!

The reason I particularly like that site, is very helpfully, underneath the general stats, they give a run down of what they see as a players significant strengths and weaknesses, ( if there are any ), based on the previous two seasons form. He has some, and they read,

Significant Strengths:
Passing: Very Strong
Through Balls: Strong
Key Passes: Strong

Significant Weakness:
Aerial Duels:

My own personal take from the above, is that seems a mixture of steel and skill on the ball. Up to you what you think!

Clearly a very difficult deal for us to do, but, would without doubt be the highest-calibre signing of this new era and arguably the biggest statement signing the club has made in the Premier League era.

If he has done something personally that warrants criticism, then by all means criticise him for his own actions. But saying he’s “tainted forever” simply because he’s Argentinian is the definition of prejudice: judging an individual by the actions of others because they belong to a particular group.

He's a Leverkusen player for the past six years. That's. A strong setup for total development. Predominantly focused on youth, then always scouting under the radar top South American talent.

Think he'll be very much like Nunez (out injured half the time). Misses games.

Other than that as armchair investigated that part of his game is brilliant...doesn't score goals...little, but can play from deep to behind the striker on the occassion.

I’m sure we’re interested in him but there’s no way he’ll come here.

This is one of those signings that is super hard to get done but if we pull it off we will not be facing relegation, which in itself gives a further big money season to prepare for really big things at this club. Worth MA giving the guy what he wants in terms of pay / bonuses to get this done as this quality in the no 8 would bring additional riches in return. European spot this season folks?! ;)

Why is anyone getting grumpy about us signing a £25m player. He will clearly cope with the Prem League and could do very well. Last time we were in the Prem we had £500k Morsy ever present and we fell a long way short of survival. We seem to be building a much stronger squad this time
