![]() Tuesday, 15th Feb 2005 14:59 Former Blue Chris Makin has joined George Burley's Derby County on loan until the end of the season. The move puts an end to the full-back's short and unhappy spell at Leicester. Makin left the Blues in the summer in the hope of winning a Premiership contract with Bolton Wanderers. However, a switch to the Reebok Stadium or any other Premier League side failed to materialise and he ended up at Leicester. George Burley says he is pleased to be reacquainted with Makin: "I took him from Sunderland to Ipswich where he did very well for us when we had a good season and finished fifth in the Premiership, and he played in most of the games. "I know him well, I know his strengths, and it's great for us at this stage of the season to bring someone with Chris's qualities into the club. "Chris is a very tenacious full-back. He can play either side, he's good on the ball, a competitor, a good organiser. "I know exactly what I'm going to get from Chris and I'm sure he'll do very well at Derby." Makin was jeered and booed throughout Saturday's Town-Leicester game and looks likely to receive the same treatment when the Rams visit Portman Road on April 2nd.
