![]() Thursday, 11th Aug 2005 17:39 Jaime Peters has been called into the Canada squad for a friendly in Spain on Saturday, 3rd September. The 18-year-old will not miss any Town games to take part with no league games scheduled for that weekend. Peters, who already has 11 senior caps, will join up with Frank Yallop's squad on Monday, 29th August and will be back with the Blues two days after the game. Yallop, who has been under fire from fans of late for his side's poor performances in World Cup qualifying and at the Gold Cup, says Canada need to face quality opposition if they are to improve: “Obviously Spain represents another very difficult opponent. “Playing against these strong teams will help us as we look to the future of the program. We are trying to get a balance between playing in Europe, which is easier for our players, and the need to play more games at home in our region.” Canada also have a game scheduled away in Luxembourg on November 16th.
