First thought of the day, we loan in a GK who has done nothing but drop the ball and we bench our new permanent GK because of his performance against Cardiff. Wrong!
Game after game we drop points from a winning possition. Wrong!
Three games in a row we lose in time added on. Wrong!
We are now bottom at least two results from getting out of the red zone. Wrong!
We have a large number of loanees. Wrong!
We have yet to tie up our decent player for next season. Wrong!
We charge so much for tickets. Wrong!
I feel bad for the manager who takes on the mess the club has been left in providing ME stops treating us as a marketable asset and starts treating it as our "family football club".
I dont want to drive to Yeovil and Doncaster next year.

With the way PJ went about last season it almost felt like this would be his first. He didn't build anything last year and was going to build something this year. He did not!!
We need someone who can partly build something this season and keep us in the Div 1, once that is in the bag they can have a propper pre season.
I'm not overly fussed as long as they have some real passion for the game, the team and the supporters (sound like Jim). Mick McCarthy if I had to choose. |

Lasting memories,
Not a clasic but beating Pompey 1-0 nearly 20 years ago. Standing room only for traveling fans.
At the end of the game a man walks up to me and said "stick with it kid, we are going places".
I had been to games before but that was the first win I saw live.
Football has changed so much, its harder to pick up a player from Huddersfield and have him score bags of goals in the Prem. Now players are snapped up by the big teams with even a sniff of potential.
Bring back the full Ipswich youth system... I has worked once before.

This to me says it is a topic, might not be a big topic but still a topic.
Football is a game run on results and no matter how people put it we have yet to pick up results. At this time I would be happy to play badly and pick up some valuble wins but if your playing well and still not picking up a big "W" you hve to ask whats going on behind closed doors. |

When people are doing things part-time they have other jobs and they can't go to Scandinavia, they can't go abroad or up to Scotland.
Thats why they get to watch it on TV. There are hundreds of games on tv and thousands on line (if you know where).

One thing I would like to point out is the fitness of our players. They look tired late into games and conceed goal because of this (Cardiff, case and point).
This lack of fitness could be down to his beliefs that we dont need a propper fitness coach.
We get in loan players, many of which are being loaned out to get match fit. Sort that out and the rest should follow.
He should look to get people in their last year of contract signed up otherwise we will be looking for more loan players next time arround. |

I was one of the few who didn't want Jim to get the boot.
Since then, we have had a manager come in and change the whole team letting decent player go only to have him replaced by an old fashioned, defeated manager.
He may have the backing of the board (for now) and the support of the players but he just hasn't made an impact and I dont think 2 weeks will make the difference.
PJ PROVE ME WRONG!!!! Pleaae.

Hard fought, underestimation. Tyrone for Posh was unplayable at times.
I feel bad for the central pair not getting enough support from the midfield but they were far to slow to react for both goals, from where I was sitting I couold see both goals unfold well before the final pass happened.
I think we deserved the points with the amount of good chances we made, I do agree with a previous post that if this was 3 months ago we would have lost. |

To be honest he took the shot "at goal" but from my angle in the ground I'm not so sure of it heading into the top corner.
He does deserve it for the fact he was willing to take on the shot.
He has had a great season and has been one of our best players this year.

Bawsedog I also agree. A few years ago we had the choice of shirts and that style was one, I voted for it but we ended up with something else.
As for the away shirt, not the orange and black thing but a nice solid retro red would look nice.

Its a good thing Pompey wont be playing tomorrow.
The down side is we have a game tomorrow and one does wonder what the priority will be. Trying to get in the players in or some how doing the double over West Ham.
Either way it should be a decent crowd and who knows who will be in the stands watching.

It is just wonderfull we are looking to put some new blood into the squad however a new front man is not the answer.
Gone are the days with Bent and Kuqi out doing teams 6-4 and 4-2. We are leaking as many goals but will never be able match 40 goals between 2 players.
We can score 1 or 2 a game but we need to stop giving teams 3 goals a game.
So in conclusion, stop looking for front men and make sure we get the CB and RB we need. |
