The US is heading towards civil war. The republicans have already established that they will not accept any defeat in the next election. One of the candidates for Arizona, a psycho named Kari Lake has already said she will call fraud if she loses. The system is broken. The only way forward is it burning to the ground. The next election is going to be disgusting. If it were a third world country manipulating elections, we'd be bombing them in the name of democracy.
We don't call three people a mass shooting. We call it Monday. All kidding aside, four victims either dead or wounded is considered a mass shooting. There have been 354 mass shootings so far this year. It's disgusting and our politicians simply don't give a sh*t. The NRA's pockets are deeper than the pockets of the parents of dead children.
Phoenix Rising has over 62K and is growing weekly. Our new stadium has 10,000 capacity and is expected to cap once COVID restrictions lift on June 5th. Prior to COVID we'd sold out the past 23 games.
I am very much okay with this. Although if this did happen, my loyalties would be torn. My season tickets are slap bang in the middle of the home supporters, but I don't think I have it in me to not wear an Ipswich shirt and scarf. Maybe if my wife and daughter wear Rising shirts I'll get less grief :)
We had a commercial fuel line break in Phoenix in 2005. Commercial meaning for fleet vehicles, semi's, trucks etc... but our lovely media, made it out to be consumer gas with cars and caused panic buying and gas shortages and gouging across the region. Morons.
The have the hardcore supporters section behind the goal on the right. They were loud. Drums, trumpets, chanting, smoke bombs etc... Not as much overall chanting as I'm used to, but the crowd was supportive.
Here you go mate. The stadium was at 50% capacity. So about 5700 people. Completely sold out. The bleachers where the camera is has a second tier the other side doesn't have. There are still more seats going in once COVID restrictions are lifted. It was the first human thing I've done in a year. Felt good to get out.
I was at the Phoenix Rising game last night and watched a solid win. Up 3 - 0 at 60 mins. We started playing a bit more defensive until one of our wingers was denied a hat trick after being yanked back on his shirt and then we laid into them hard. Oakland are the Millwall/Leeds of South West America :)
And speaking of our winger Solomon Asante. The guy is 5'2" and I don't think I've seen anyone that fast in a very long time. He was easily getting his hat trick. He ran circles around them.
Phoenix Rising is the football team in my city. We're in the USL, which is the league down from MLS. We don't have relegation, so it's purely money that talks for getting into the MLS. Interesting fact is Frank Yallop was our manager a few years ago. Didier Drogba was a co-owner and player for a while, and was awful to watch. He could not have cared less about the game. It was all a spectacle.
