Town Confirm Greaves Signing
at 19:28:56

LCB isn’t the sexiest position in a team, but this is gonna be one brilliant signing that is absolutely essential at Prem level, as we need to be really strong at the back. Welcome Jacob, you could be our new Terry Butcher.

Town and Blackburn in Szmodics Talks
at 18:56:30

Szmodics is a brilliant reader of the game. His brain is half a second ahead of 99% of Championship defenders. I could see him being brilliant for us in the no 10 role, with Hirst/Delap playing up top. He will want to show that he can do in the Prem what he's done in the Championship. Good price due to his age, bring it on.

Hladky: An Amazing Three Years
at 21:38:19

I don’t believe it is at all “clear that McKenna wanted a better keeper”. I am certain that Vaz is a victim of the fact that his contract had expired and Walton’s hadn’t. It is obvious that Vaz is preferred to Walton, that’s why he played last season. But one has to go, Walton is on high wages, about 3x that of Vaz, and unsurprisingly Vaz wanted to be on at least the same. But his contract was up. I’d have preferred that Walton goes and Vaz stays, but contracts sometimes dictate more than what we see on the pitch.

Hladky Fails to Agree Deal and Now a Free Agent
at 09:52:31

I can't help feeling that Vac is a victim of the situation we find ourselves in with Christian. CW was one of the highest paid players at the club in L1, got a rise in the Champ and then another when we went up to the Prem - its reported he is on £36k per week. Yest Christian has clearly been no 2 to Vac all season. It's not too far fetched to imagine that Vac has said he needs to be on more than Christian. but VH's contract is up, and CW's isn't. So if one of them has to go in order to get a new no.1, then it's much easier to play hardball with Vac, and let his contract expire. It's hard to see where CW can go, as no one is going to want to match his wages for a player who didn't play last season. I suspect we either keep him as no.2, or cover most of his wages and loan him to a Champ team.
Personally, I'm very sad to see Vac go - huge admiration for him and how brilliant he was last season, I've never seen another keeper with such a cool head under pressure. Many thanks Vac, and best of luck for the future.

Blues Linked With Renewed Interest in Hull Winger
at 10:01:22

If Villa have a buyback clause in the contract, that contract was between Villa and Hull. So my guess would be that at the time Hull come to sell, they (Villa) can buy him back for £xM whatever the buyback amount was. If they don't exercise that option then that must be it, as Villa have no contract with ITFC or any other buyer. Well that's how I would make sense of it.

Hladky: I'll Know Next Week Whether I'll Be at Ipswich or Somewhere Else
at 07:57:59

You nailed it there Len. All I would add is t the posters saying "He isn't great with his feet" - what the hell planet do you live on? Playing with his feet is the best part of Vac's game, he is as good with his feet as all the outfield players, and added to that he is ice cold - he can receive balls under huge pressure and still make calm decisions and slick passes that completely wrongfoot the attackers. That for me has been one of the standout elements of our success and joy to watch in 23/24. I don't know of another keeper as good at this as Vac. However, he doesn't command his box brilliantly, and maybe KM has identified this as something that we need to upgrade on. I'd be delighted if we can find an upgrade of Vac , someone with command of the box , shot stopping and who is nearly as cool under pressure with his footwork as Vac, and keep Vac as a back-up. I suspect that is what is going on.

Jackson: I'll Always Be Extremely Proud to Have Played For This Brilliant Football Club
at 20:10:51

There's a whole spectrum of players in the game, from the utter bell ends to some of the best human beings you could ever meet. Kayden is right at the latter end of that spectrum. Absolute class act through and through. It has been one of the greatest pleasures of the last 2 1/2 years to see Kayden finally appreciated and valued for what he can do and what he can bring, rather than what he can't do. Even in this amazing season, Kayden has produced some of the most memorable. Thanks Kayden, sad to say goodbye and very best wishes for your next career move.

Town Step Up Hutchinson Chase

Remember guys and gals, Mark Ashton asked us not to create too much noise about deals for players until they are done. We know what MA and KM want to do. Lets "give them the oxygen" to do their deals without piling extra pressure on by creating speculation of players' values.

McKenna Expected to Stay at Town
at 19:07:06

Delighted to hear he is staying, as I think he will keep us in the Prem with a few places to spare. But we do need to understand, he is not going to stay to see out this contract. I'm sure that there will be a much bigger buyout clause, so that when he does go, we will get a significant compensation sum. So for now, we've got Super Kieran McKenna, let's continue the journey and enjoy it, whilst understanding that a really good season for us will probably see him poached by one of the big six in 12 months.

McKenna Wins Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy For Manager of the Year
at 06:23:53

What an incredible achievement and honour this is. For Kieran to have this award handed to him by Sir Alex will mean so much to him. We really do have a very special man at the helm. I think recent days have made us all realise, if we didn't previously, that Kieran is worth more to us than any player. His ability to get each and every player to be the very best version of themselves in every way, and for that team to play so cohesively that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, means that his worth is incalculable. I'm sure MA knows this, and will reward him with another new contract. Well done Kieran, we salute you.

McKenna Bookies' Favourite For Brighton Job
at 06:44:17

The only way KM leaves us now is if one of the big 6 come in for him. Whilst Chelsea and Man Utd are putting out feelers, they both know it is still too early and too risky for them, they will want to give it a year to see how he does. And KM himself will also know that it is a year (at least) too soon for him - it could end a hugely promising career if he went to say Chelsea and they sacked him after 6 months. So I reckon we have KM for a further year, and that allows him to establish us in the PL, and the big 6 to see what he's got at the top level.
