McKenna: Delap's Spent the Week Looking at His Options and Having Conversations
at 17:04:14

McKenna has not said anywhere that Delap has missed treaiing this week - just that he has been given permission to talk to clubs. The trainig at Town is not every day and even on training days especially at this stage of the season, it's likely taht the training sessions will be shorter. No reason he can't have had meetings and discussions remotely or on his days off. He has earned it, and ITFC will have made £12+M from his efforts and progression this season. Hope he goes to Newcastle where teh fans will love him.

Planning Committee Unanimously Backs Aquatics Centre

I normally park in the car park behind the Cobbold - but I'd far rather travel by train. However the train line from Liverpool St to Ipswich is constantly undergoing maintenance with rail replacements on match days, which makes the journey a nightmare. If the car park is going to go, please can this be coordinated so that whatever needs doing to the railway line is done once and for all, so that we can all travel to matches more sustainably? it's rare for a big club to have a main line station so close to the stadium, so let's try and make it usable.

Town Topic: Gamechanger Takeover Four Years On
at 06:29:10

The ambition shown in all the transfer windows, always signing better players that would improve the team, and seeing it translate - that first summer when we signed Wes and Morsy, then windows when we got Broady, Hirst, Omari.... on and on. And seeing it translate into perfomances - becoming the best team in L1 history with the long undefeated run winning almost every game, where we really saw we had a team that would not only smash L1 but that going to compete in the Champ. The absolute demolishing of Exeter - 5-0 inside 30 minutes, and that glorious afternoon in the sun.
Then in the champ, the incredible balmy magical night where we overcame Southampton in the last seconds, and everyone singing Magic as we left the stadium.
So many wondeful memories after 20 years of decline. Thank you Gamechanger!

Townsend: I Don't Think We're Anywhere Near Done
at 08:58:29

Playing Leif in a back 4 worked fabulously well in L1 and even the Championship (except maybe against the top teams). But in the Prem, the opposition are so good they exploit any gaps, and that's one of the big reasons we have conceded so many as Leif pushes forward and leaves gaps behind. I hope Conor gets a lot more game time, certainly if we are playing a back 4. If we play five across the back, that is where Leif's wingback style works best at this level.

That news is as good as could be hoped for. Great to see Chappers back training again. And Sammie Szmodics back is huge.

Ex-Referees' Chief: Jones Too Quick to Issue Tuanzebe's First Yellow Card
at 12:56:54

grow_our_own - I agree 100%, the PL and PGMOL need to look at the rules after this season and do something because its ruining the competitiveness of the league.
Unlike some, I doubt it is an actual conspiracy, but there must be a psychological mechanism in play where refs just act more leniently towards established teams, some kind of sub-conscious belief that they are better than the minnows who have just been promoted. Your suggestions are both good ideas that would just level the playing field a bit so that the matches are not tilted so much in favour of the established teams.

Town Finally Complete Philogene Signing
at 02:05:13

For forty days and forty nights
He was hard to sign ah
But who can argue
When he's in McKenna's plans
Philogene is not my lover
He's just a guy who McKenna wanted at Town
And he makes your defence look like clowns

I'll get my coat.

Donacien: My Hardest Ever Goodbye
at 12:53:54

JD, thank you for being a part of what happened at ITFC. On pitch, you proved that you can play a really key part in promotion to the Premier League, your solidity and the understanding you formed on that right side with Wes was superb. Off field, you've shown so may players that you should never give up, and that if you can ride out the tough times, there can be better times than you would have imagined possible. And throughout, you conducted yourself with dignity and humility. A great example to all players and fans.

Burns: Preparation Same as For Premier League Match
at 07:38:06

I like hearing from Wes, he always tells it how it is. So pleased that he's one of, in fact was the first of, the "bomb squad" recruitments. He's been on the entire journey, and to see how he made Cucarella look like he was the former L1 player was superb. Hope you enjoy it for a while longer Wes.

McKenna: Hirst and Godfrey in Squad, Hutchinson Back Soon, Szmodics Suffers Ankle Knock

Brilliant news to have George back in the matchday squad, we have really missed him this season, far too much reliance on Liam. George is good enough to push Liam and at the very least be our game finisher.

Town Agree Philogene Fee
at 08:21:37

As for PSR - it isn't an issue as long as we stay in the Prem. Recent performances and results have boosted confidence that we will survive, and the only thing that could have stopped that would be a thin squad that couldn't cope with injuries/suspensions. It speaks volumes about the club's ambition, we now look like we are building for the second season in the Prem.

Linkboy, not sure that "big changes in the recruitment department" are needed at all. We've had to cut our cloth, but by and large our recruitment has been good. But if what you mean is we need to start looking at other leagues around the world, then yes absolutely, and we've already done that with Cajuste. Everything is growing at Town in a controlled way in line with our finances, including the scouting network. This signing makes a lot of sense.

Juventus Watching Delap - Report
at 13:19:54

none of us know for certain what the "buyback" clause is. However what would make sense commercially for both ITFC and Man City would be that if, and only if, we choose to sell him, then City would either get 20% of the fee as a sell on, or they could opt to but him for 20% less than the fee (which compensates for the loss of sell on) , so e.g. we agree a fee of £70M with Juve, City can either step in and buy him for £56M, or let the deal proceed and get £14M as a sell on. That would be my guess as to how it works. But I just hope we keep him for a long time yet.

Chopra: I'd Had Enough of My Life
at 12:37:41

Glad that Chops has got his life back on track now. But why, oh why do ITFC have to have that gambling company as a sponsor? It ruins lives, if adults want to gamble that is their choice, but the incessant advertising in football that cannot be avoided is utterly wrong and contributes to so much addiction. We should distance ourselves form it wherever possible.

Five Win Caps
at 06:31:39

Sammie was on the wrong side of a couple of feisty challenges, but he's a tough cookie, and seemed to shrug them off quite easily. He and Ogbene were moving well at the time they were subbed, shortly before the 2nd Greek goal. The 3 Town players were amongst the best in the EIRE team. Ioannidis looks very very good. Strong, good movement, super shooting. Tremendous strike from Ogbene that was chalked off, Ogbene is gonna be real competition for Wes on the right side.
