Tranmere and Orient Eyeing El Mizouni
at 20:55:59

I hate to admit it as I had high hopes for El Miz, but this last season each time I have seen him in the line-up my heart has just sunk a little, as it shows that we are short of first choice players. He just hasn't matched up to the first choice players, and we hope each time that he can "do a job" for 90 minutes or however long he's on the pitch. In summary, he just isn't quite the quality we need to push on to bigger and better things. Best of luck Idris, hope you find somewhere you can make a real impact.

Jackson: I've Loved Every Day Under the Boss

Great credit to both KD for all his hard work and to KMcK for spotting his amazing athletic abilities and seeing how he could use that in our team. A really positive story. Uppa Towen.

Jackson Signs New Deal
at 17:04:36

KMcK has played a master stroke here. Before December, 95% of us would have been happy to just see KD walk away free in the summer. But since KMcK worked his magic, it is like having a new £1M+ signing - so what a fantastic stroke of management. In Dec-March, we saw how KD's pace could be used down that left side to stretch defences and beat the offside trap. With him used in this way with Wes on the right, all we need is a finisher who can get to the box in time to stroke it in. Simples.

Morsy Linked With Wigan But No Contact With Town
at 14:07:44

Sam Morsy is our engine room. From the very first game he played for us, he transformed us. We haven't had such a commanding central midfielder since Matty Holland. I can't for the life of me see MA and GC20 being willing to let Sam go, it would need to be an absolutely huge offer from Wigan to break that contract. 99% sure that Sam will be our captain next season in front of sellout crowds and taking League 1 by the scruff of the neck. Preston Eyeing Celina
at 07:57:40

Big question for Bersant is, does he love Town enough to lower his wage demands for a year to stay at Town. We fans love him, but we know that he isn't at the top of his game in every match, and we can't really afford to spend wages for someone who is brilliant in one match and then has a couple of average matches, when we could get 2 other quality players for the same. I hope we can find the right compromise as would love to have him here as part of the league 1 winning squad.

Ipswich Town 4-0 Charlton Athletic - Match Report
at 18:43:50

To put the McKenna revolution into perspective, he had exactly half a season in charge - 23 games. And the form table says that over the last 23 games we were 4th - above Wigan. Considering that he inherited the entire squad, only adding a couple of loans available during January, and that we suffered some unfortunate late equalizers, the future looks very bright. A good transfer window and we will be right up there next season.

McKenna: Simpson Wants to Move On in the Summer
at 14:55:00

I have a little sympathy for TS as he is only young and has no doubt believed that his agent is working in his best interests. Agents like this are the scourge of football, complete parasites ruining the careers of promising young footballers because of their greed. I agree 100% with Ashton's words, it is a great shame as we could have done with TS and he sure as hell could have done with us. But ITFC are so much bigger than one player. We have to let this go.

Oxford United 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:02:01

Such an unjust result. First half scrappy and no clear chances. Second half, we looked a different team with Morsy and Bonne on. Burns was literally tearing them apart, and Oxford players just looked like they couldn't cope with the pace and power of Town who were attacking in waves. It seemed impossible that we weren't going to score, so much penetration, but finishing does seem to be our achilles heel. Even after the excellent goa from the Chaplin/Burns/Celina combo, we continued to have Oxford on the back foot right up until that damn corner.

Surely this now League means another season of League 1 football. A very disappointing result, but it was always a long shot after our terrible start to the season. The future is however incredibly bright - I can only see this team, with further strengthening in the summer, completely taking this league by the throat next season. McKenna's at the wheel.

Simpson Nets Twice as U23s Beat Swans to Hit Top of Table
at 16:55:14

TS has proved himself in senior football, albeit at L2 level. So in my book he is worth giving an opportunity to show if he can perform at L1 level - provided that he will have discussions about a future contract. If not, then leave him in the U23s.

Jackson: I Feel Like a Footballer Again
at 15:26:59

Like many I had also written KJ off. He clearly has some incredible physical capabilities - his pace is electric and he seems to be able to keep it up all game long. But first touch and shooting accuracy have left a lot to be desired. Hence the write off. Now it seems this genius of a manager has worked out how to use KJ's strengths and build his confidence. We are now seeing this right across the squad, players growing in confidence, and working harder than ever to win their place in the team. I said to some fans as we were waiting to get in at MK that if KMcK cold get a tune out of KJ no one would be happier than me, and here we are. Well done Kayden for working hard, and I hope you can put in more performances like yesterday.

McKenna: Not Impossible For Simpson to Break Into the Squad

McKenna: Skipper Morsy Itching to Get Back in the Action
at 17:44:53

Morsy returning is immense, before he started playing we were a complete pushover in midfield. Everyone has gained confidence since he has been here, and his aggression is a necessary part of his game (listen to James Norwood's interview for a good explanation of "sh1thousery") - just as long as he doesn't get banned again. With Morsy, I think we could well be in the hunt for a playoff spot. Without him, no chance. Saturday is a massive game, if we get 3 pts we are in the mix.

Simpson: I Wouldn't Have Changed a Thing
at 19:57:20

Those are some very warm words from Tyreece, and no doubt he has endeared himself to the staff and fans at Swindon. But ITFC are a completely different level form Swindon, and if Kieran McKenna sees Tyreece as part of the second half of the season at Town, Tyreece is gonna see his career take another huge leap forward. I can't wait to see this lad get his chance in blue.

Walton Permanent Signing Confirmed
at 20:06:00

Fantastic signing, shows ambition as Walton is easily Championship standard. Another great piece of work by M Ashton. And I am guessing that Christian has decided that playing regularly at Town and aiming for promotion is better than collecting the big bucks and sitting on his 'arris, so big respect to him for that.

Woolfy and Burgess are both 6'4", Edmundson 6'3". We don't lack height in central defence. More important is, is he any good, does he fit KMc;s style and is the Lancashire Post a reliable source?

Brighton Activate Loan Recall But Walton Still at Town
at 18:19:52

Don't know how much Walton's wages are but guessing that even as a 3rd choice Prem player it is at least £15k per week. Presumably we are paying about 1/3 of that. So the big question is how much of a wage cut he is prepared to take. I don't see that Brighton would even need much of a fee, they would be saving £300+k in wages if they offload him. We would need to structure any deal to keep within current wage structure but give him a nice increase upon promotion. Let's hope he can take the long term view and see that this team is only going in one direction and see that it could be a very mutually beneficial deal.
