Evans: Focus Should Be on How We Finish the Season
But when reviewing the performance of his manager and players, Evans should look at the previous 9 months.
It's a sad case of affairs when I only want this season to be played out so that the true disaster of this season can be revealed and hope that some of those responsible can see what they've done.
Not that anything will change mind...
Lambert: Football Will Change for the Better
I think this will only widen the financial gap between the Premier League and everyone else.
The Premier League will most likely seek to distance themselves and create an elite European league with minimal opportunity or hope of lower league clubs ever getting into it. Sure, there'll be even less money in the lower leagues but that gap was widening out of control before this happened.
I really can't see this being for the better.
Five Point Protest Aims to Focus Frustrations
Northstandveteran, I agree 100%.
This lad is from a generation who haven’t even seen good football, wanting to make a difference. Marcus Evans has never fully understood the kind of club we are; close knit and personal. His distance and apathy towards owning a proud team and disengaging loyal supporters isn’t finally coming home to roost.
Best of luck to this guy in making a change.
Sears: You’ll Know By the End of This Week Where We’re Going to Be
So, before the end of the week, our men nearest the other team’s goal need to know where the goal is and how to put a ball in it. And the men closest to our own goal need to know where to stand and how to stop the ball going in it. The shouty man in the pullover a top the side needs to know how to coordinate all these men correctly.
I know this is a big ask at present but come on lads, you can do it.
Chambers: We'll Be Seen as a Scalp in League One
At present, I think any League One club will view as a potential 3 points rather than a scalp.
Relegation was not even a close call and we've won just two games in 2019. Yes, there is positivity, the playing style is better and the harmony around ITFC seems better on and off the pitch, but until we sort out all the things that got us relegated, we're way off getting promoted from League One.
I'm all for remaining positive but talk of promotion before the basics get sorted is madness.
Thanks for the very kind comments everyone. Much appreciated.
Commuterblue...I've always thought leather ones would probably work best but can't bring myself to wear them before I'm at least 70 years old.
Skuse: Derby Win Could Spark Play-Off Push
I'm a dreamer but we're currently 200/1 to get promoted and performing like we're lucky we had a good start to the season.
I admire the words but they're empty ones and only fool would think we are anywhere near good enough to hit the top six before the end of the season.
McCarthy: I'll Finish My Contract and See What Happens
People will get wound up by the content of this article but realistically what else is MM going to say in this situation?
"It's a fair cop! I've not really taken the club any further forward but managed the budgets well. The football isn't easy on the eye and most people see my tactics as outdated, so I'll be off in the summer and the players can stop giving a toss now."
Of course not. I'm not a huge fan of his now. I feel like we've become like NASA and their space explorations. Like NASA, whi had a chance to shoot for Mars but settled with creating the space shuttle, we constantly go for the safest option and the dullest. Nothing has really happened since the moon landings in 1969. And nothing really has happened at PR since the eighties.
MM is just part of that wheel that keeps turning.
Berra: Players All Behind Boss
Player all behind boss...
Is that the teamsheet for Saturday? Ten at the back lumping the ball up to McCarthy?
Lincoln Replay Live on BBC One
Great to see the BBC giving the little clubs an airing...and Lincoln should be pretty excited too.
Leon Best Starts for Town U23s
Hmmmm, I dunno battyblue, I think Marriot Plonker was overrated and, at a guess, his shirt sales would have been really disappointing.
Kieron: One of Suffolk's Greatest Talents, Ill-Served by Dire Headlines
Excellent blog Superfranz, it's really good to hear the other side of a story told.
Dyer was one of those players who, just because of his talents alone, would make you buy a match ticket every Saturday. He would find passes or create opportunities that not only the opposition defence wouldn't predict, but the 22,000 in Portman Road wouldn't spot either until it resulted in a goal. When you watch Ipswich teams who have run out of ideas in matches, that's when you find yourself turning to your mate and saying "We need a Kieron".
I met him in a pub in Ipswich the night we had failed in the playoffs again. Spotting a group of half a dozen of us out in Town shirts, he came over and bought us all he drink because he wanted to say "Sorry, we didn't do it for you". We all felt more sorry for him that his talents weren't going up to a bigger a stage. There aren't many that would do that under the circumstances...
